Thread: Master Pikeman and a new toy and Balance
That would be nice, the problem is whether we are the 'heavy weapons meele'. Seing how we have no definition and are provided no definition save for the idea that in close combat we are supposed to be able to inflict massive amounts of damage. Which we all know is BS.
It ties back to the concept thread in which we are asked what we feel we are best at. Which save for MasterPike with some real nice dropped loot is essentially nothing. We are obviously not the heavy weapons meele as the swordsman can dish out more and take more damage. And that goes no where near TK.
So to conclude my ranting, we have no definition. We are not givin a definition IMO because if we were, chances are we would not be living up to it due to brokedness. So by not having a definition it is easier for development to push off the issues, because who is to say we are broken...there is no idea or current theory on how we are intended to operate. Lets ask the players who pay us to do this job, then when we can't code them up to specs and they remain broken we can say it is beacuse their vision was off, and that is not how they were intended to work. Ohh, and we apparently need support skills for the Pikeman profession because we are not an elite class and are not intended to be independant, unlike the rest of the meele classes of course. Ohh, in case you haven't noticed I'm not through with my rant yet. Which brings me back to our lack of definition. Seeing as how the three other classes can be self sufficiant to a much higher degree, and our lack of definition it would seem we are not a profession at all rather a SP sink and something novel to fill up the rest of the Brawler tree. Seeing our weapons are unreliable at most untill we hit master it would deem to say that dabbling in pike is useless, yet again we are hybred.
