Hello fellow Pikeman,

I am a Master Pikeman who became one because of the Holocron grind. However, I will not be dropping Pikeman ever. I love this class very much. However, we need some serious work. This post is influenced by seeing a Power Hammer used by a Two Handed Swordsman and after seeing the stats of the Hammer.

We as Pikeman are considered as the MELEE HEAVY WEAPONS user, there is no sense in us having this title if SOE allows a Swordsman to use a Hammer that almost has the same stats of our Long Vibro Axe. Both are Med AP, both are in the range of 100-to-400 normaly. Both are close in speed. This upsets me very much.

I would like to see us with a new lance that looks like a Long Vibro Axe, but it has two Axe heads, each facing opposite directions. These are the stats I would like to see.

Master Pikeman should have the option of getting their hands on a heavy armor pericing weapon. If we are the Heavy Weapons user for melee then we should have a weapon that backs the title given to us.

The weapon should be slow, it takes a lot ofstrength to swing these Lances, and only a Master who has mastered the ability to use their body and the lance as one, should only be able to see a huge reduction in the attack speed, at Master we allow the Lance to swing with power as our body guides the Lance in our attacks.

We are the Commando and Rifleman of the of the Melee world. We deserve a weapon that shows devistating hits when they connect. At this point in time we are slower than majority of the classes and our weapons do not do enough dmg to compete with the other classes.

Also the range should be like this because, up close we will not be able to get the Lance moving as well on top of a person as we could if we had room and was able to get the lance going. We use our entire bodies to spin the lances, and we allow the weight of the lances to land our attacks, thus our bodies and weapon becomes one in a deadly dance of earth shattering hits. Which is also why we should be worse in accuracy, our lances are predetermined when we start, we can not change our attack quickly thus our accuracy will not be as good as someone who uses their fist or stun baton who can quickly change directions at the tip of a hat.

I know every Master Pikeman would dream for a weapon that shows us for what we are, We are that person who wields a Gigantic Halbred and smashing our foes, breaking bones and rupturing organs as we land with devistating attacks.

I am a master pikeman. That is who I am and who I want to be. I am not a rifleman who uses a pikeman tag to decieve his opponents, I am not a holo grinder who wears his pikeman tag as a testimemt to the pain he has gone through grinding. I am not a pikeman who has mastered another combat proffession to support my offense, I will not degrade my pikeness in this way. I am a master pikeman. That is who I am and who I want to be.

That would be nice, the problem is whether we are the 'heavy weapons meele'. Seing how we have no definition and are provided no definition save for the idea that in close combat we are supposed to be able to inflict massive amounts of damage. Which we all know is BS.

It ties back to the concept thread in which we are asked what we feel we are best at. Which save for MasterPike with some real nice dropped loot is essentially nothing. We are obviously not the heavy weapons meele as the swordsman can dish out more and take more damage. And that goes no where near TK.

So to conclude my ranting, we have no definition. We are not givin a definition IMO because if we were, chances are we would not be living up to it due to brokedness. So by not having a definition it is easier for development to push off the issues, because who is to say we are broken...there is no idea or current theory on how we are intended to operate. Lets ask the players who pay us to do this job, then when we can't code them up to specs and they remain broken we can say it is beacuse their vision was off, and that is not how they were intended to work. Ohh, and we apparently need support skills for the Pikeman profession because we are not an elite class and are not intended to be independant, unlike the rest of the meele classes of course. Ohh, in case you haven't noticed I'm not through with my rant yet. Which brings me back to our lack of definition. Seeing as how the three other classes can be self sufficiant to a much higher degree, and our lack of definition it would seem we are not a profession at all rather a SP sink and something novel to fill up the rest of the Brawler tree. Seeing our weapons are unreliable at most untill we hit master it would deem to say that dabbling in pike is useless, yet again we are hybred.

While logically, we should be the hardest hitting profession, we're not in this game. That title belongs to Heavy Swordsman, and thusly have no need for this weapon.
