If you're a noober pikeman or a hologrinder looking for xp ... go look somewhere else. This is strictly for those who are nearing master status in the pikeman tree or masters who are looking to bank some combat xp. Perhaps if you are a TK master or Blademaster whos going up the pikeman tree this could also be beneficial to you but its not for the weak.

I'm on dantooine tonight hunting down pikets for the herbivore meat, which is very valuable now, and I come across this pile of bones. 3 slinking voritor hunters happen to be surrounding the lair. One of my party is going up the ranger ladder and needed scout xp bad. She mentioned to me that these critters give great scout xp from the harvest and the meat they provide was also very valuable at this time.

Now I've fought one or two of these guys before and know them to be a tough fight. I've not fought them however since acquiring my new armor and gaining some skills. So the ranger tells me that they have something like 65% kinetic resists. Great. I'm in for some fun. Well, for a shot, how about the electricity resists. None. I'm stunned. None? Ok then, out comes my lance and I proceed to lay into the lair.

Now heres the fun part. This lair must have spawned a total of at least 20 voritor hunters. At one point I must have had 7 on me at the same time. I'd kill some, more would spawn. I'd kill more, more would spawn. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not fighting durnis here, these are some tough buggers. With my armor on and my lance equipped, I was beating them off at a good clip though. And to top that, I've never come across a critter (well maybe a TK master or two) that had a better dizzy attack than these guys. At one point I was on my back for 2 full minutes waiting to get up from the dizzy state whilst these guys chewed on me.

The fruits of my labor were thus. These bad boys give out over 5k xp each and close to 6k for the lair. I'm of course maxed at polearm xp but doing some quick math on the combat xp made it easy to figure. Some of you might say 'well baz nitches give out this much xp and rancors give out that much' but I've killed all sorts of critters in the last few months and I have to say that using a lance and killing these things is the best damage:time ratio I've seen. To put it into perspective I WAS NOT BUFFED. I used my specials (mostly spinattack) and healed myself (when the combat medic with me wasn't too busy chatting to her guildmates). I used muon and fishak for my mind and kept on trucking.

I spent the rest of the day killing these guys wherever the ranger could find them. I ended up with something like 120k of combat xp from around 8 hours of play. A lot of time was spent roaming around trying to find more mind you.

Heres a shot of me fighting off a few of them. Go out and try it before telling me how its NFG or you've got a better way to do it. Like I said, no buffs, ubese armor, muon and fishak, and a (occasional) heal or two from a medic. Go out and try it.

Now, if you want creaturefun, go do the 36-37 k mission on dathomir and ignore the enraged rancors and start beating on the lair until it's down to 10-15%. Then stop, and focus on staying alive

Oh yes, Ewoks on Endor... they're fun too.. just to see a pile of dead Ewoks is fun all by itself, dam furrballs

Oddly enough, both these suggestions were offered up last night. We only had a party of three though, so didn't think we'd have the manpower to boost the terminal enough to get the enraged rancors.

And ewoks are evil ... they have a magic tree that once you go up, you may never come down until one of the nasty buggers kills you. I found this out the hard way when 25 ewoks were chasing me and I couldn't get out of the damned tree. Vile little snotballs they are. Curse them and their magic tree.

The /unstick command is your friend. Use it a few times until you are thrown from the tree.

yeah, you have to be pretty good to take these bad boys on. not only do they hit hard, but they deathblow too. and their HAM is pretty high as well for little lizards. i've taken a few on (not 20 at a time, mind you) and it was not easy. but yeah, they do give a ton of xp, and they're pretty fun.

is that 560 lva with a power up. i'm a master smuggler and with the best non special (ie kryat, rancor tooth, nightsister vibro motors ect..) made weapon on the server with a 33% damage slice i can only get 496 as my max damage, even with afull 35% slice it would only put it at like 510 max damage. So i'm wondering if you are useing a power up or was there some special componets used?

You must have been killing plain rancors. You have to fight the bulls or the enraged rancors to get the big xp. Even with your uber LVA I wouldn't risk fighting these guys at just novice pike though. If you do we'll end up finding your parts mixed in with a pile of lizard poo out on the plains of dant somewhere.

A dynamic spawn always spawns more than a mission spawn. Basically as long as the lair is around mobs will keep spawning. Slinking Voritor Hunters are nice. Not regular voritors or voritor hunters but slinking voritor hunters are the key. 5K xp and 500 combat xp.

I left my 1337 5s433k translator at home (j/k :smileywink but if I read your question correctly I think you are wondering about xp.

I believe that it all depends on the level of the MOB as Legwand has stated. For instance there is a difference between a rancor and an ancient bull rancor (in terms of difficulty and xp gained). For instances There are pikets (easy) and piket plains walkers (tougher). There are voritors (easy) and slinking voritor hunters (whoa momma).

With KD/Warcry, intimidate and buffs though they can be done without too much trouble though.
