Quick question, if I get +dodge fromt he fencer lines, I will be able to dodge when holding a pike yeah?
If not, then whats the point of doing fencer? Seen a lot of people with it, please enlighten me.

oops, anyways, same goes for, for instance, the +stun mods from TKA and the +defense mods from TKA, when carrying a pike you will get these mods stacked too right?

block/counterattack/dodge do not cross professions. If one profession blocks and you have skills that give you the same value of dodge (e.g. 115 block, 115 dodge), when you use the weapon that blocks, you will only block. When you use the weapon that dodges, you will only dodge. Fencers/Pistoleers dodge, Swordsmen/Carbineers counterattack, Pikemen/Riflemen block.
The rest of the mods, such as melee/ranged defense, defense vs. states, do stack and work no matter what weapon you are using. This is why some people take fencer, they have huge defensive mods, not for the dodge.

Hmnm.. i have skill 4 of the swordsman defense line and I counterattack alot with my pike...

You don't ever counterattack with your pike. The combat log message is wrong. When you block and see in your own combat log that you "counterattack"ed, the combat log of the person right next to you says that you blocked. It's a typo. Pikemen/Riflemen block, Swordsmen/Carbineers counterattack, Fencers/Pistoleers dodge, TKA have a broken mix of all three.

Guys, I've got plenty of block/dodge/counter-attack from pikeman, fencer and swordsman respectively.
I have only ever blocked with a polearm, dodged with a fencing weapon and counter-attacked with a swordsman weapon.
I have never once, and I mean never once, ever had a cross profession defense mod kick in. I have never dodged with a polearm or blocked with a gaffi stick etc..
I don't just have a wee bit of these either. I have quite a bit of skill in each of these.
I really hope this ends this debate. Listen to Antares.

I have to agree... im pikeman with 80 dodge from fencer and i never dodge with a pike.
However, i have recently got some looted pikes from a elder or two which have counter and also dodge (not polearm dodge or counter, just dodge and counter) stats on them... it would be interesting if these weapons somehow "unlocked" defense mods from other professions.. ?

I think we've already figured out that they don't "unlock" anything, unfortunately...
