Thread: the melee stack

hey all, lots of talk on these forums about templates and i usually get tired of em but i need some advice for my own.
i just started a new character so that i could become a melee stacker because i loved it and coodnt bear to drop BH carbineer on my main so heres my Q: is Pikeman good in PvE like swordsman is? My main idea was to go master brawler, master pikeman, tkm and 0443 fencer, great defenses and would hold my own in pve and pvp however i began to think that maybe swordsman is the better bet to PvE with, but i want to go pike cuz its so unique. so what should i do drop TKM and get swords AND pikeman or leave swords and take pikes. (i dont want to just get like 1 or 2 lines in a prof i like to do the whole thing, so thats not an option

Pike and swordsman both do well in pve. Pikes do great in groups with the states from the area attacks. Swordsman can take out individual targets very fast with the headhits. The choice is dependant on your playingstyle
Tkm and swords can do well in pvp. Tkm has the advantage prolly as long as swordsman doesn't have a speed bonus. (then again i am not a pvp-er)
I'd just do what you think is fun. Ofcourse pikeman is a lot of fun

If droped master TKA lately for pike and never regret it....tka for sure is nice and u can tank the hell with it...but when it comes to high-end-mobs its pretty worthless for dealing damage cuz the vk is only ap1....since u wanne build a pve template u can forget about high melee/ranged defense or even high defense vs. stats...both is not the big thing while pve....havin some medic is most of the times more value....my current build is master brawler/swords/pike/tka 4000 and medic 2200...it works just amazing while fighting elders or krayts....using pikeman for intimidate2/stun/dizzy/kd and landing some dots...switching to swordsman for finshing up....

For high-end content, swordsman beat pikeman hands down.
Swordsman have better toughness, better speed, better accuracy and better defenses. Toughness, speed and accuracy are the deciding factors for PvE. Having said all that, I still like pikeman better. LVA is just sooooooooo cool.
