Thread: A which box to choose Q?
Ok so I have about 500k xp, and am 2/0/3/2, I only have like 60k combat xp so I won't be getting my second bleed hit for a bit...
any suggestions on what to get?
Also while I am at it, how often do bleeds tick, and is there something that makes them tick faster?
Master your stances, the speed boost really helps. I mean it REALLY helps.
About 15 seconds per tick.
No but if you bleed them whilst they are kd'ed, it makes the bleed stronger.
Id like to have combat spame that tells you when it bleeds, its quite hard to see the bleed nubers over the unlucky bastards head....

I can always tell the bleed over the mobs head because it is the one with the obscenely high action damage. Tonight while out hunting with friends I dropped some npc to the ground and then stacked ah2 and ah1 and ended up with bleeds of 3200 and 1700 each.

Can't wait till I get my AH2...but yea its just hard to see the numbers most of the time with all the other crap over the mobs head..
I am at 2/0/1/3 on Pikeman. I had Combat XP maxed before I started so went straight to 0/0/0/3 when I got novice. I plan to get defence 2 next and be 2/0/2/3(4).
Question is what next? Do I go for offensive skills? Do they help or go up the stances and defense branches and do offensive last as in 4/0/4/4?
FYI, Iaverage 2 k dmg per sec with my pistol easily. With Pike I am doing 2 k dmg/5 seconds to the air around me.... But dam I look good doing it... 
I beg the difference, sweep isn't worth it if you can't keep up with the damage. Get your stances(speed + spinattack[excellent skill for crowds])first and foremost, then the rest will follow so fast you won't have the timeto say "w00t?" before it's done. About the sweep1 and KD; I understand itis a niceskill but without warcry2 sweep1 isn't that powerful,sooo if you alreadygot warcry2 then you got polearmLunge2 too and there you are...

Be off with you Braglor! That cold air in Norway must have frozen your brain.
I used warcry 1 for ages before ever getting warcry 2 and it works just fine, only for a shorter span of time. You talk about spin attacks being nice for a crowd, well novice pikers have enough trouble handling ONE mob let alone crowds. Lunge 1 doesnt work worth a fart so once again your plan is only good for a master brawler. My layout is for a PIKEMAN. Not a master brawler who decides to go up the pikeman ladder as well. Sweep 1 is ever important if you dont have master brawling skill.

Hmmm. Ok, Antares and others are going to disagree with me (a fie on you all) but this is the best IMHO.
I think you said your 0022. Well heres my path to success.
Novice Pikeman ====> 001x
Get this first because you get sweep1 and that is the single most important move in the whole pike repetoire.
001x ====> 401x
Get the stances first because speed is crucial with our crappy speed weapons. If I were a fencer or tk with a possibly very fast weapon then I'd say different but our weapons are at best a 4.0.
401x ====> 404x
Now master the defense tree for the obvious reason of more defense mods as well as damage mitigation (which will help against those swordsmen as I've found out but not much against the tks).
404x ====> 444x
Finally master the offenses branch. Now people are going to scream and say leghits are awesome and area attacks are awesome get offense first. I agree that these are useful moves but if you dont have speed. And you dont have defense. You wont be standing long enuff to use those awesome moves.
Of course the x in all the support lines I put in because support is combat xp and is not relevent to polearm xp. You get those boxes as you come to them.
Hope this helps and now time for the 100 people who disagree with me to post their oppinions. And remember that is all these are, oppinions, only you can tell you what to pick next depending on your style of play and what you think makes the most sense.

you do, when you use the bleed attack, what you hit on that attack will be the amount it bleeds

Sorry CLab and Braglor but I wasnt really responding to the main post but the one directly above mine. The poster asked what to do next and I was giving him a response.
I would not dare tell CLab what to do next. There is someone who can make up their own mind (and by not offering an opinion I can't be held responsible at a later date).
