yeah ... No freaking holos in my profession choice ... and I must say I really enjoy pikeman =)
I'm 3/0/1/3 now ... will soon have another +15 Speed =) So I handle myself in PvE ... and now with my brand new NS Lance with disease .. I will be *usefull* in PvP .. not only a weak meatshield ...

The profession is, yes, broken but really interesting and I'm having lots of fun =) The only thing I hate is trying to find a teacher ... I hate paying credits to a NPC ... I don't care paying thehigh price but at least to a player not to the void...

So ... here's my question:

**edit** is block ?!?!?

I mean .. you check the combat log ... X has dodge that, Y has counter attacked this ...But I've never seen Fingolfin has block this for x damage ....

So ... I guess the answer .. BROKEN .... but what is it suppose to be ?? x% chance of completly blocking the damage ? x%chance of blocking a y% of damage ? Always blocking a x% of damage ? Passive defenses ?

Anyone knows ??

Yah, this is one of the many issues added to our list of neglects made by the DEVs. Here's a link to the infamous block/counterattack situation

I am another Non holo "about to start" pikeman player, currently a TKM and have been for 6 months now but as it seems everyman and his dog is now a TKM I want something a little different....

I saw a pikeman and I really liked the special moves he was pulling, don't really care how much damage, just looked cool.

My question is, at novice you get certifiaction on the vibro lance but I see so many accomplished Pikemen still using the long vibro axe, why is this????

I am away on business so can't go online and check the stats at the moment, just wondered if any of you guys knew!

One of the things not working is the combat log string. In your combat log, it says "counterattack", but if you ask someone near you what you did, their combat log says you "blocked." The other thing is whether it's working as intended in allowing 50% of the damage, and it's also as of yet undecided as to whether armor gets factored into it or not.

block, showing up as counter attack in combat logs means you take 50% dammage of the hit. this will bypass your armor.

The LVA does more dammage than the VL. LVA is also armor peircing so it does full dammage even to things with light armor.

The Vibro Lance and Long Vibro Axe certifications are in the wrong places.

I searched a teacher for 6 hours yesterday hehe .. I needed Stance III and Support III ... God I just wanted my **edit** second bleed and my Dizzy Aoe Move =)) Well I finally found a Master Piker by Theed Starport =))

Anyway ... So if I understand well .. Block has x% chance of working and when it does it blocks y% of damage ... We aren't sure about armor yet ... My conclusion .. this is lame ... exept if we can get 80% block or something ... The Idea of stopping Status Effect is good also .. and no it won't remove the effect of Status defenses because we won't block every single hits ....

so, I'm guessing Either Krytal or Antares has a decent arsenal of combat experience stacked up by now? I would sugges tyou to emplor them to train in Marksman and let you teach them the infamous ranged support1 it's about 100 combat expe each time, and gives 20 app expe(almost free app expe!). If they decide to go allnaughty on ya, just look up some other elite melees and ask them thesame(TKAs usually have a lot).
