Pikeman Archive

Well last night I finally finished mastering pikeman, all in all I can say it was a pretty fun profession. Even with all its qwerks, I could see pikeman becoming a very good profession in the future with some help from the devs. Pikeman is a great melee class, it takes something from each of the other melee professions and balances it nicely. To all the aspiring pikeman out there I wish you all good luck, dont give up on it!!! The payoff is pretty good, dont worry about all the negative comments on the boards about pikeman. It just takes a different strategy then other combat professions. Adopt a strategy that works for you and stick with it. Well I guess I am off to master brawler now, I havent quite figured that out yet, how a holo gives me a elite combat profession (pikeman) and then a basic (brawler).

BTW, interesting path you have: Former Master Heavy Swordsman,Former Master Pikeman,Former Master Medic,Master Creature Handler. Can I ask which of these were holos? My career is exactly the same except for Medic. Thanks.

never tried that route before;first pikeMan and then masterBrawler. Must be a hologrinder phenomenon? Good luck getting that FSCS, you're going to need it.

I wouldnt necessarily call me a holo-grinder perse, I want to get a feel for all professions associated with it. Of course I am going to follow what the holo is telling me because I think anyone would like to open their FSCS. But I am doing it on my own time, I started pikeman when I got my first looted holo, then I dropped it because I was happy with master heavy but then retried it and enjoyed the class.

BTW here is my professions that the other person was inquiring about.

Master Heavy Swordsman
Master Creature Handler
Master Medic
Master Pikeman (holo 1)
Now onto brawler (holo 2), I mastered Swordsman and CH before my first holo, then I mastered medic when i had the spare points from swordsman because it was easy enough to do.

Wow that's a cool coincidence (sorry to hijack thread). My own path has been the following:

Master Brawler
Master Artisan
Master Scout
Master Swordsman
Master CH
Master Marksman
Master Pikeman (holo1) ...in progress

Or is it

Pikeman (holo 1)

The coincidence may be we all did MCH to loot holos? I'll be interested to see what real_noc gets after Master Brawler since I mastered that pre-holo. Might be worthwhile to keep in touch and see what we get for our third/fourth holos.

The irony of course is I just trashed ppl on the Jedi board last week for thinking there's a pattern after GarVa posted that it's all random.

I will let you know what i get after Brawler, I should master it pretty soon. Only thing that will hold me up will be the AP points but hopefully some of my guildmates will hook me up with some. I am already at 3,3,3,4 in the Brawler tree

hehe your not the only one. i mastered pike then brawler as well. and let me tell you that when you do master brawler you will smack yourself a few times realizing all the pain and suffering it would have saved ya

Yeah I was 3334 brawler before giving it all up for doctor. I've now seen the errors of my ways and gone back to master the brawler profession.

And no, I don't grind holos Braglor.

Ok for some that were following my path to see the coincidences. I mastered brawler last night, opened my next holo..... A mysterious voice tells you "In order to continue your path to enlightenment you must Master Merchant" Well..... off I go!!!
