Thread: Is pike damage really that low?
its got its pros and cons, it will take u alot longer to kill the creatures without armorbreak and all those high damage specials, BUT u can attack 8-12 of them at a time with your area attack, but then again the area attack has a pretty high cooldown so u cant really spam it, and ive heard the area attack has a cap on targets it effects i think 8 or 12, like if u have 30 creatures around u and hit area attack, u only hit 8 or 12 at a time, im not sure if that true but thats what ive heard
if u just want it for the FS gring, ide REALLY say get some armor (not too expensive) and get pike/swords, then u get area attackand warcry which is a cone area debuff.
but thats just me i love pike lol
I am a mpike and TKM and healing line doc.
I was looking at weather to go mpike or m swords. I went the way of pike. I get more melee defence ( I was up to 300 at one time when I was a master brawler and some sword but I went to doc and gave up some points for FS before I realized I could just save my FS points and apply them all at once.
The mob can not do enougth damage to take you down. Between baca jab. baca shot and the one that heals you over time. I am in good shape. With COB running a intimadate you are only taking 40 to 55 points of damage . I use two area attacks. sweep and the group knock down and then hit my main target twice then area again . good if you are swamped but you still need to get the numbers down.
armor costs too much. expecally when TKM and cob gives it to you free. I was saving lots of bucks until I went into space while waiting for the village shift. What was funning was hunting with a guildie and the mobs attacked him all the time because i was doing so little damage. ~ 800 to 1000 with Vib Lance. LOL , darn. But I did knock the mobs for him.
If you want, you can take the sword line for the extra defence (that give the armor break) but really, why bother. your health is the most important. with Doc 4 000 you can take care of your self and speed is not an issue. Pike rocks
For taking on high lvl solo you want to be:
-Master pikeman
-Master Brawler
-TKM
-Swordsman 0040
-medic 0040 (with as much healing efficiency CAs your can get)
**With this you can take out a lvl 90 np. I took on 2 lvl 85 NS stalkers at once with this. I had to drop this template due to the jedi thing but my alt will soon have this exact template.

But, I love Pikeman... I'm not sure if it's the pretty moves we get, or the area KD. Though, it does have no comparisson to Swordsman when it comes to Master Swordsman, I'm afraid... Unless thats just me... 
... Yeah... I dunno... If you think swordsman is boring, then go for something you'd enjoy more or less... No point in being something you hate if the game ends up feeling more like a chore in the end.
