Pikeman Archive

Not to diminish anything in your post, but all those pikemen-related items in the update notes were repeats from last month. They said they had accidentally repeated some, that's why they didn't make it into this patch.

Yep, I hear ya. I recently did the same thing. A word of advice, keep your Pike skills and pick up TKA. The nice thing about TKA is all the Ranged and Melee Def bonuses. These of course will stack and you then have the option of switching to and from Pike once you get some TKA skills goin. IMO TKA is almost flawless in design. I'm still looking forward to seeing Pike fixed and will resume the tree once this happens.

Well, I was waiting for the new patch, because originally on TestCenter there were some Pikeman-related fixes in the patch notes.

Unfortunately they have all disappeared in the actual live patch, which means that Pikeman is still fundamentally broken. They could have made one 10-minute change (I'm guessing, literally changing three database values) to the accuracy mods and I would have stuck it out, but we didn't even get that.

I'm dropping Pikeman. I do believe that eventually they will fix it, and make it worthwhile, but I'm just not willing to wait it out. I will most likely pick it back up if/when it's good again, because it's so cool.

I'm afraid that while I wait I am crossing the fence over to TKA.

For those of you that stick with it, I have nothing but respect for you. You're better players than I am.

In shame, I'm hanging up my LVA... I regret that I am dishonorably discharging myself from the ranks.
