At what point does SOE need to cross before they give up and perform a rollback?
This patch is definitely going to need a rollback I think. Too bad since the new content actually seems kind of cool.
Here is what is happening for those of you who can't get on your servers:
If you use sweep on a creature it stays down indefinitely. From my limited testing they will stay knocked down until you do another knockdown/posture change move on them. This is extremely broken and I'm surpised it got through test center.
Anyway, I killed a couple bols with my new ultra-knockdown then felt guilty and logged out. I tried to submit bug reports, but it said I couldn't create a ticket so I'll let them figure it out.

Even better than that, you don't actually need to use polearmarea2. Just sweep, take a step back, wait 10-20 seconds, target the creature and type /lol.
I haven't had achance to test out the dizzysweep combo on any humans. I know before the patch you could dizzy then lunge to get a free knockdown if they stood up, but dizzy would always clear if you used sweep. I'll test it out if I get a chance.
By the way, dizzy + knockdown always worked in PVP for a very long knockdown, but polearmarea2 doesn't always apply dizzy so it was not very reliable.

umm guys and gals you do realize that this infinate kd is working with all professions kd's right? this patch was fubarred in many ways. and i don't consider this a polearm "fix" since it will soon be taken away again. and that armor ratings on creatures are actually hurting us now? this patch needs a serious rollback, or at least a major hotfix. think on that for a while
Hey, sorry. I should've put "fixed" in quotes or something as I wasn't being serious. There are some truly amazingly broken things with this patch.
On a positive note, I did test out dizzy+sweep and dizzy+lunge on some human NPCs and it works as I think it was originally intended now. They stay down until the dizzy wears off instead of clearing the dizzy state as soon as they try to stand up. Note that knocking down a human does not currently cause the perma-knockdown like it does to creatures.
Anyway, regarding the perma-knockdown and AP issue (yuck) I really hope they fix it soon. I don't want pikeman problems to be solved by a one button fix like the ultra-sweep or that rediculous /tank idea they've been throwing around.

Lol, I tried the "new" sweep today, with sweep2, in the middle of 5 grondas who were minding there own business. One sweep with a lance, they all fell down. I stood there, shocked for a bit, no one got up! I used area attack 1 and finished them off. Cruel, but kinda cool.
On the flip side, while trying to tame a rancor, I stood in the middle of 4 rancors, and swept em. Some fell, but jumped up pretty quick, and sent me to the clone just as fast.
Too bad this won't last...wonder what's next?
