On dath tonight, autoattack would hit bolmas and kamuriths for 800-1000 with my LVA, whereas hit3 would hit the same creature mostly for about 500, sometimes 300 and on occastion 2000, once for 4600. I kow pre-patch I only got hit3s in for less than 1k if they had medium or heavy armor, which these creatures do not. And what's with the fluctuations? 330-4600 (mostly sub-1k)...

Has anyone else noticed a decrease in damage?

Yes. Can't explain whats going on, but dmg is definatly not working right, especially in pvp.

Yeah, there is a bug in the combat system. I read about this in another guys post. Apparently, and I haven't checked and verified this. When you attack a creature with armor lower than the armor piercing of your weapon then you do not get the increase in damage. Plus if the creature has resistance to your damage type (Kinetic or Electricity) then (if your armor piercing is higher than their armor) this resistance will still take effect and it will be doubled! So if you hit a creature with light armor and 30% resistance to kinetic with a LVA(medium piercing), it will take off 60% of the damage!

However, if you attack a creature with a weapon whose armor piercing is less than the creatures armor, then their resistance will decrease by half! So if you attack a creature with light armor and 30% resistance to kinetic with a lance(no piercing), it will take off only 15% of the damage.

So have fun trying to figure our which weapon works best until they fix it...

That's what I had read as well, but I couldn't explain the fluctuations. On the *same* creature, polearmhit3 landed several times for 330-500 and one time for 4600.

Heh...I hope this armor piercing trouble gets fixed quickly, I hit a nightsister stalker with light armor and low kinetic resists for 209, 410, 515...with hit3 and my LVA. That's just rediculous.
