Thread: How much do you feel your ranged/melee defense stacking affects you?

I am thinking about grabbing some powerboost and some ranged/melee defense from tka. However, I just want to hear your opinion on the effect this extra defense has on you overall as a pikemen. I know alot of you have several melee profs so i bet I will get a good, solid response. Thanks (no this is not your average "if I do this template will I kill people in PvP" kind of thread) .

Pikeman miss fairly often..... if you have more defense, you'll stay alive longer, therefore giving you more time to actually hit with that uber-high damage loot pike you might have 
More defense is always good imho that is anyways.

It helps a great deal over thestandard Pikeman in my experience, especially the state resists fromTK, although I have a strongsuspicion that there is a diminishing returns effect as you reach the cap. I think wether its good for you also depends on how you play, in pvp stacking is still almost mandatory to a degree (imo), while in pve buffs and armor can easily let you bludgeon your way through countless rancors without having to sacrifice to many precious skill points into other professions.

Yeah I am only for PvP, but I thought I would stack the tka 0004 defenses to myterrible +25s from pikemen. I just use 3 strong mind dot lances, so really I just have to stay alive long enough to DB the guy lol
