Now I understand Pikeman has problems, and of all the Melee Classes it is the most broken but.... it is clear to me that both Pikeman and Swordsman are heavy Damage dealers. (Im not interested in TKA or Fencer, just these two)

I am told Pikeman isawsome in PvE and awful at PvP. So, im just wondering, what are the pros and cons to Pikeman over Swordsman?

Thanks a bunch, the info here will help me in my Char build.

swordsman pve, swordsman pvp... UNLESS you have the money to buy the nice dot lances/axes for pikeman, or can hunt nightsister days on end to supply yourself with them.

thats about right. swordsman will beat pike in both PvE and PvP. PvE because of its high damage and PvP because of its mind pool targeting. Pikeman still has its advantages though and is a cool profession

and there was much rejoicing...

Pikeman advantages: Animations, looted weapons, slight speed advantage unless you have 2-h speed attachments.

Swordsman advantages: Damage, counterattack, area attacks, damage type, max damage, dps if you have speed attachments, soloing capabilities &types of mobs that can be killed (nearly everything, krayts and elders included).

Pikeman is good if you have money to spend... as terrible as that sounds. With a suit with +25 speed and accuracy, and some 300+ power mind DOT lances, you'll hold your own. Without that... /shrugs
