Almost everyone that has a good selection of SEAs (excluding Wooks) currently wears them in either an Ubeseshirt , bandolier or Mabari belt. Afterthe CU Mabari and Ubese seem to be recon armour and we are certed for battle armour. Will we be able to wear these items still and what penalties might we incur by equipping them? If we can't wear them will there be some system whereby we can reclaim the SEAs and move them to battle armour pieces?

Ubese shirts can be worn by anyone right now I believe. I know at least one person who can wear the shirt without having a cert for any armor as yet on TC5.
Not too sure about belts & bandoiers though.

I don't know yet since I don't have armor.....you might be able to find this information on the armorsmith forums, though.

I'm unconvinced we're given "certs" per se. I see nothing in the Pikeman TC tree about "Padded Armor Certification" or whatever. All I see are mitigations. If you ask my opinion it looks like we can wear what we want, but only get encumberance mitigations for Battle armor. Since all three of those items listed have no encumberance whatsoever [at the moment anyway] I bet they will work just fine still. If anyone else has solid evidence to the contrary, please share.
Failing all else, I'm sure this has occurred to SOE at least to some extent and maybe they'll give us a way to get our mods back if we can't wear the armor anymore.

Nope.
You cannot equip armor or weapons that you're not certified for. Armor is now split into three categories: Battle, Assault and Recon. If you've not got a cert for one of those armor types (the cert is in the novice elite skill box) you can't equip it.

Well currently on TC although there are no actual listed certs for armour , you can't equip it until you have a novice elite skill so i am assuming there are hidden certs of some kind.
I did check on the AS forums before i posted the original message but couldn't see anything relating to the belts or bandos. I just wondered if it had come up in any correspondent discussions.

I'm quite aware of the 3 catagories. I'll look at that novice elite box when I get home from work. I might have overlooked it when I checked before.. but I was specifically looking for armor certs and saw BENEFITS to wearing Battle armor, but nothing indicative of us not being able to use Recon or Assault AT ALL.

No, that is precisely what they are - I believe the devs have already said that you will not be able to equip armor unless you have the appropriate certification.
ZionHalcyon is correct, if you DO NOT have the first series of Mitigating numbers in the Novice box, you can not equip that style of armor. If you untrain the novice box that grants you the basic mitigators it will strip that armor off you.

the mitigations tie into the certs. If you have the mitigations, you are certed to wear the armor type corresponding to them (IE battle, assault, recon)

btw.. at the moment, Ubese shirts can be worn by anyone at all, just like a piece of clothing. You can get them from the blue frog terminals just by simply getting a set of Ubese recon armor (though obviously you need a recon armor cert for the rest of it). I'm a 0134 brawler and have no problem squeezing into one. As for Mabari belts and Ubese bandoliers, I don't know just yet.
