well for pvp and using pike as my main fighting style...is it necessary to master it..or could i dabble here or there in it? and still get good results

I wish I could say you'd be best off Mastering it. But really unless you want Improved Intimidate you could get away with dabbling in it I guess.

I had a template during testing the cu, it was m fencer, m swords, pikes 0030, m brawler, medic 0040.
To the original poster though, if your going to dabble in pikeman, at least take 0030.

Well, dabbling is not really a good idea in the game now except for certain instances...the sp requirements are too great to justify trying to get the weak versions of specials in professions.Dabbling in the right tree of healer is great and almost needed now. But for pike, well, unless you'realready master brawler it's quite a few sp to get for weak versions of intimidate/warcry/impale.
Depending on your fighting style and template setup I'd suggest getting master. I don't think dabbling pike will net you great benefits for pvp. Fun to dabble for pve, but for pvp it won't be much help.

I am Mbrawler, TKM, Mswords, and PIke 0044 and I find that alot better then taking Mpike.
I still get improved stunning blow, intimadate, warcry, and I get high damageing move's from swordsmen w/armourbreak.
