Thread: What is SOE's vision for the Pikeman?

After reading Holo's post today I understand somethings but I don't some others.


Does SOE consider the Pikeman a support class not a combat one ?


All things being balanced should a novice Pikeman con the same on a creature a novice Rifleman does?


I do know we do more damage to NPC's and less to Creatures, and it is the opposite for the ranged types.


I am just curious what SOE see's a Pikeman as.


I personally see a Pikeman as someone that gets close to ya ,your dead no questions asked. Sure I can see ranged killing a Pikeman, but I can't see ranged out running one and killing one. Pikemen were used aganist calvery , but large creatures own us. Just wanted to asked , to see if my idea and SOE's are different.

I imagine they needed a few more classes to flesh out the pre-tka tree, so they added pikeman, swordsman and fencer as a joke. Now that people are actually playing them they're kind of stumped.
