Hey Guys,

I am currently trying to decide wich combat profession I should choose to go with my doc character. He is currently 4, 4, 3, 2 in Doc, soon to be master. I was thinking of trying out pikeman (I am 0,0,0,3 in brawler)... I know most people will say TKM/MDOC but I did TKA, and I want to try one of the non popular classes. Would pikeman be worth my time? Meaning are they severly broke like chefs? Can they deal good amounts of damage? Do they make a good addition for group hunting in PvE? How do they fare in PVP? Any help would be great!

PvE: High-level pikeman is great with some food or buffs and armor. Lots of damage. The class has issues, but most can be mitigated in some way, like by always having food or buffs to get around the wickedly massive HAM costs. Accuracy will frustrate you to no end for a long while, though. Overall, pikeman is greatly underestimated in PvE.

PvP: Not that great, but better than it has been. Being inherently slow does not lend it self to working well in PvP, which is all about speed.

Lots of people who have taken it up under orders of the Holocron have said they really enjoy it, and some are keeping it when they're done. I'd argue it's worth your time.

Master Doc with Master Pikeman will be a good combo. Being able to buff your owh health and action stats will help tremendously.

Thanks guys, I ask this because there is 1 (that i know of) Master Doc/Master Pikeman on my server (Ahalzi) and he argued it was, in his words, 'flipping great' ... but I tend to want more then one opinion. Well, I guess I can always drop if I dont like it. I'll give it a try! Question now: What would be a good Long Vibro Axe (stat wise) and what are these Nightsister lances I've seen being sold? Wich kinda sister drop them? (Meaning slaves, stalkers, etc...)

Player-made LVA stats typically run 110-365 damage @ 4.4 speed with roughly 85/65/35 HAM costs and -55/-55/-55 range mods.

As far as nightsister polearms, there is a thread here with some good info from several people on some places to go and which to loot:

As a Master Doc/3.1.4.2 Pikeman on Gorath, I can tell you that being able to buff yourself makes all the difference in the world. You can solo much better, and can supplement your income quite nicely.

Heck, even having a good hunting buddy who is a Master Doc would be a great help.

Hopefully with the publish supposedly coming this week, it will get even better.
