Well, get this;

I'm a Master brawler, Master Fencer, TKA, Pistoleer.

I pretty much kick some major bum in PvP.

But, I'm giving it all up and changing Fencer and Pistoleer for Pikeman (keeping the fencer defenses instead of pistoleer).

I have too much fun with polearms, and I'm realizing I better join the class before it becomes the flavor of the month when it finally gets fixed. I mean, area KD and Dizzy. I'm in love with a profession, is that so wrong?

Hey guys, I need tips too though hehe, feel free to help me out =)

Fredwroc, it's not wrong to love this profession. When I first opened the SWG box I knew what I wanted to create. I wantedto make character that didn't follow the masses but took a road less traveled.One that had a hard life and trying to overcome it. When I saw that everyone was flocking to stuff like BHs and ranged weapons I decideto go melee and the less popular one, polearms.

When I saw the cool animations of the polearm attack, I was hooked. When I approach a target I have to use tactics, profession blending, different blends of armor, foods/spices,etc. to overcome. It was a real challenge to me and it was fun.At Master it was like night and day. The bonus to be a Master made it well worth the effort to get there.

When this class can go toe to toe with the other melee classes in PvP, I will be a happy camper. I'll enjoy a fight that is decided on my choices and not a dev's poor ones. Notice I didn't say PvP with a ranged player. Because I knew from day one it's silly to think a melee figher in open terrain can take on a ranged profession. But if he/she follows me into the snake hole Iwould enjoy haveing him for lunch.

It's a fun profession filledwith good people who as I, wanted something different. People who don't mind a lttle work and a challenge. People who like to adapt and overcome. Several of the original pikeman have even decided to forgo the Jedi quest and keep their original characters in tact because of what I have described above. So, if your having fun with pikeman, do it. It's your choice ultimately but it sounds like you want what we have. When I see another Master (most holo grinders drop it soon as they make master and move to the next one) on the streets or in the field I pause and show respect to him or her. Why, becausethey are one of the few who stuck it out.

Welcome to the block!

This is the same thing that got me hooked too (loooong before I knew anything about ham and speed and range mods etc. etc.).

Is it just me or are the animations cooler with lesser weapons then the better ones. I remember looking awesome with my staff (even had one guy come up and say 'are u a jedi, you sure look like one?). With my lva and vl I just dont look as cool.
