Thread: Are you guys broken?
I've always wanted to try but i don't wnat to really get into a broken class... Whats the status of your class right now? worth getting into?
Depends on your version of broke.
About 1 in 3 posts say yes - the other two are either some sort of funny humor (to make us feel better about being us) or its some other topic like weapons and moves
I wouldn't call us broken....
first off, throughout brawler tree our accuracy is terrible if you use the LVA, just terrible. Thats the main problem is the accuracy at first. The profession is not ground breaking or anything until you get to master and everything changes all the sudden. Its like night and day. Polearm hit 3 can strike for about 5000 damage on your nice moves, and im talking with a 450 max lance, we aren't even talking about those insane crazy 1400+ lances that you can find on nightsisters.
That brings me to another point, we have arguably the best loot in the game, thats fairly common to find at least. Nightsister lances and Nightsister Energy lances. You can find stats on lances with like 1400 max damage and 700 mind poison on them, quite rare though. Not as rare as finding one for the other professions though. alot of people run into 600 max damage lances with low ham costs and nice stat bonuses. The energy lance is fiar, 250ish max damge but good accuracy and I think 2 disease dots for about 50 each.
PVE id say we are good right now. Though they are lowering our speed and hopefully upping our damage to help the crazy ham costs. You need buffs alot to do much so you need a good doctor friend. We dont have a Dizzy/KD single move but we do have a seperate Dizzy and seperate KD which helps. I dont know what the status on that will be after the balance though.
PVP if you are only pikeman we aren't very good. Yes, you can beat people, many pikeman can beat TKM's not too hard, you mainly just need master brawler for that. If you get by the high ham costs then your pretty well set. good thing is to just find yourself a good lance out there and things will be alot better.
My advice? Id say master brawler and pikeman, then go find yourself a fair Nightsister pike. Get the Ham costs low. the accuracy on those can be -65 though, so you might need some sort of skill tapes that add +Pikeman accuracy and get them into your clothes for you to be effective. Of course if the accuracy is -45 or -30 then your pretty good but might want accuracy anyways. Also, of course if you run into a 1400 max damage pike your set 
Another thing is pikeman has a different feel from other professions. You really get hooked once your master and its just a profession you cant get away from IMO. Im onto mastering it a second time because I used to be a crazy holo-chaser. I really dont know what makes people stay hooked, some say it has a good "star warsy" feel to it.

PvE, a Master Pikeman can be the next thing to God. Huge bleeds, nice moves, and great area knockdowns.
PvP, if you supplement it with an unreasonable amount of extra crap, a Master can be competitive. Not Uber by a long shot, but at least we can make anyone who's got another uber template scared until their Dizzy/KD lands. Then it's all over...
GvG, I think our Masters are probably the most frightening thing conceivable in the confined halls of a factional base facility. The enemy troops come piling in, and we just area attack the hell out of them. This usually lasts until a CM poisons us...
Anything that's not a Master Pikeman shouldn't even bother showing up.
