So i was thinking....

As of now, pikeman's shinning strength is looted polearms. And that is generally to but us on par with other people.
So it stands to reason that we need to have the best system possible for aquireing these weapons.

We know they are looted pretty much exclusivly from nightsisters.

But there are also like 10 differnt types of nightsisters. All with varying strengths weaknesses and power in general.

Wish of thse should we hunt?

The ones i can think of off hand are.....

Slaves(dosen't even count as a nigthsister i think...but anyway.)

Rancors(probably not either)

Innates

Rangers

Stalkers

Sentinels

Rancor Tamers

Spell Weavers

Protectors

Elders

Axkva Min(or whatever it is)

The question is, will you be just as sucsessful in finding rare loots from innates as protectors or elders?

If they drop rare things just as frequintly are they as good?

Does one type have a predisposition to dropping a certain thing?

So i just suggest that when we loot something of value, we keep track of which type it was looted from.

Once many people have posted with their findings, maybe we will see a pattern, and improve all of our chances.

I really don't think anyone can conclusively say that Elders have a higher chance of dropping weapons, better weapons at that. Its pretty much just our best guess that the loot is scaled, and that whatever you can realisticaly manage to kill is your best choice. If you can only kill one Elder an hour, compared to to 10 Stalkers in an hour, you're probably better off going with the Stalkers.

From my experiences Spell Weavers tend to drop the most loot and more often than the others.

Most I've got from Rancor Tamers was hangbags!!!

Protectors, once which was a really bad LVA.

Sentinels, Outcasts, etc never dropped anything for me.

The Spell Weavers are what drop the best/most frequently good stuff as I've been told by the NS specialists I know.

rancor tamers, i have never gotten any thing but credits or maybe like a disk

i seem to get good loots from rangers and outcasts.

Stalkers, Outcasts and Spellweavers (in that order) are those who make me happiest considering numbers/ham and droprate.

i prefer Rancor tamers (for quick easey kills) and Protectors if i have a friend, or if i want a tough fight (note: tough fight with force powers, not in there present state)

Spell Weavers are bread and butter. 1 v1 i will take them every time, 2v1 its a tough fight, but i have not lost yet, and the loot is prety good from them.

i have gotten my best looted weapons from Protectors by far. but due to there (normal) dificulty, these are best taken as a team.

and for any one going after them, my personal 2 man (er.. one man one woman) team...

me - Master Pikewoman, Master Riflewoman, master brawler

friend - Heavy Swordsman, Master brawler, defence stuff.

the two of us take out elders in short order and cher on Protectors and Weavers while we wait for a respawn

While they are in TKM mode I can do all but elders (cant damage them) easy.

I find that spellweavers and outcasts to be good.

Spellweavers I have gotten very nice pikes plus two skill tapes, one med exp 15 and another armor assembly 14.

i get crap for loot. lets face it. the only thigns worth keeping

Spellweaver-+13 pistol speed

Protector-+16 def v kd, 576 dmg lance (6.5 spd though) sliced to 700 dmg

Just wandering through here (considering a change in melee prof to pikeman)...

I've killedton of Nightsisters while hunting for layers and shards. Before the last patch (when they all used Force powers and different weapons) lances and vibro axes were dropping off of Nightsister rangers like crazy. Some of them were very good (I had a vibro axe with an extra mind poison DoT and +10 to indimidation along with a couple other skill mods). I haven't killed many rangers since the last publish, so it may have changed. Still worth a shot if you're looking for lances / vibro axes.

In my experience this is the sisters that have dropped good loot:

1. Sentinels

2. Protectors

3. Spellweavers

4. Stalkers

5. Rangers

I have killed a few elders but never gotten any loot off them, although i haven't killed anywhere near as much elders as the other sisters.

Kaora:

Not hard really, buffs, brandy, speed attachments, indimitade2, spam area2 and sweep2. This way i can easily take out about 6 protectors at once without too much of a worry.
