Thread: Opinion: Spread out polearms on the pikeman tree?

We train for a length of time using polearms before reaching pikeman. Conceptually, the technique is somewhat similar, though a polearm is a faster and less damaging weapon than a pike.
How would you feel if there were polearms available at the pikeman level? They wouldn't have AP necessarily, but they would have be a more accurate and faster weapon to train our skills at past the apprentice level.
Wooden staffs and such don't cut it because they have similar speeds and MUCH less damage. I am asking for more of a balanced option.
The Combat Staff, I think, would be perfect. We don't need a metal staff and combat staff in the same block of nub polearms. Drop the speed a hair, increase the damage and I think it would be a viable weapon option for pikemen in training.
And please don't flame me. I'm just trying to come up with some solutions.

I would rather see entirelynew weapons added, to give us a better selection of -styles-, at the least. Would at least give us the selection of fencers and swordsmen. 
And yea, spread them up the Pike trees, maybe up the Offense tree to give it more value? (Something kickass for all melee classes at master too, please!)

Well, wouldn't viable polearms and pikes be better than just viable pikes? XD

I would like to see a Polearm that was a bit faster than our other pikes, but I think they should make new ones though.

I agree!
But... the combat staff just looks sweet. It would be nice if it were more useful.
