I am currently working on master rifleman. After I have mastered I will be freeing up a lot of skill points and thinking about picking up a brawler profression. I am just wondering if this would be a good combo. Any other rifleman/brawlers out there?

While dmg wise it makes alot more sense to go swordsman and rifleman, because of mind attacks. It's also up to you what you want to do, I am a rifleman working on master 2/2/4/2 and a pikeman as my secondary and I do fine. I realized long ago that these two combat classes would need to be allmost redone in man ways so I decided on the underdog classes. One day it might pay off! either way I'm having fun in the process.

I'm currently working towards novice riflemen right now. The mind shots are kinda nice, but I use my sword and pike much more than the rifle. Brawler is wonderful cause you can mix it up when mobs run in on you.

Though if you want pike, then you should be a carbineer instead. That way your ranged specials and bleeding hit the same pool as your melee specials and bleeding.

Rifleman is not the underdog class. A good sniper can own in PvP with just a couple head shots. Everyday I wonder why I don't pick up rifle. Ranged area dizzy would so help so I could KD right away. But then I remember I hate marksman for kiting me many many times. And xp is so much easier if you know what you are doing and have a couple friends that make good weapons. Pike is a long road. It is my favorite weapon class though.Go Rifleman TKA. It will give you great defense and you can still own in PvP with rifle. Medics can't heal mind. So it is even better in PvP. Or go Rifleman CM. or Commando. Pike is still too fun though.

Rifleman and Pikeman are similar in the fact that they're both slow yet do quite a bit of damage.

If you like hitting big up close, pikeman is definatly the way to go. But as a rifleman with slow weapons, picking up fencer may be a good way to add some attack speed to your charactor.

PVE wise I think you can get better combinations than Rifleman/Pikeman. I've been a rifleman for a long time, and I think you could do better PVE wise with either TKM or 2H Swords. I was TKM for awhile, they have great defense and offense, so it's easy to switch to unarmed if something gets close. For speed of taking something out with your rifle I'd guess that 2H swords would be best, since you could continue to pound the mind pool. Pikeman works alright if you attack several enemies at once. You can start at 60m and hit them with some strafe 2's, flurry 2's, flushing 2's, then when they get close switch to your pike and spine 2 and sweep 2, this works pretty well, but you can't tank as many tough mobs at the same time as other melee classes, due to the lower toughness. I'm also guessing that this method would be equally successful if not more successful with 2H swords since they have some good AOE attacks as well.

Anyway, PvP this combo can be pretty good if you get some nice looted pikes, but it then basically turns you into a mini-CM. You stick some mind poisons/fires, then you can just run off and headshot them.

For Pvp its mostly rifles.In confined spaces though where TKAs usually try and take my rifle arse out,i whip out the pike wait for them to finish their spamming and then hit them with a nice sweep or leghit

Oh,just carry a neutron pixie around at all times for the cowards that attack you close up while youre holding your rifle.
