Thread: I will uncover the mysteries of the Pikeman

I have tried every type of weapon there is. And I can honestly say that when mastering brawler that pikes were the weakest of any weapons I tried, and even made the carbine look good.
But there must be a reason... A reason why it's so inaccuracy, so slow, so weak, and costs so MUCH HAM. This has been bothering me for a long time. This was the same case with carbineer and I chose to master it to see if it truly was that bad. Yeah I dropped it when I was satisfied it was an okay class, not as bad as people made it out to be. Yesterday I dropped master TKA and master pistoleer. (keeping the defense trees and meditation tree), remastered brawler and got to 2003 pikeman.
I'm completely defense stacked, and I managed to clean out the squill cave in 30 min by mobbing them all around me and using spin attack. Not bad... dps seemed kinda lower than when I was novice pistoleer using pointblankarea1... but I'll continue until I master and wont drop it until I have found the secret.
And I don't believe any of you pikeman who say there is no secret. You probably found it already and don't wanna share it with the rest of the galaxy because you don't want them crying nerf.
I think the only secret you'll find, and it's not much of a secret, is that we can get fairly decent looted polearms. That's pretty much how you can be competitive. But good luck to you.
The secret of pikeman is not unlocked at master, but actually well beyond master. Just yesterday I reached +19 polearm speed in attachments. Now my slowest attacks with my slowest weapons are at the speed cap! Ripping down groups of anything is so easy, the more the better! I took down 5 NS stalkers with easy, probably in under 2 minutes.
BTW- those attachments costed me a total of about 1.3 mil, and Im still working on accuracy attachments or PvP.
Okay, I'm going against the pikeman code (I hope I don't get shunned). I'm going to reveal the secrets of our profession right here.
Wait for it .....
Wait for it ...
None of us are really pikemen. We just post this gibberish in the hopes of attracting new people to the prof so we can laugh at them when they post their 'hey why do I miss so much' and 'I got killed by durnis' threads. Looks like we've got one more for the sucker bin ... fool!!!

...No, but seriously...You answered your own mystery. Which is mysterious in and of itself. The answer you seek, you have answered, yet you still seek. You are defensively stacked.
Thas all folks. That doesn't change the fact that a stand alone pikeman is desperately underclassed in just about all arenas. Nor does it change the fact that if you do have a great spread of combat ability, the question will be posed..."Why pull my pike out at all?"...Unless that is you have come across, either through countless hours of spawn camping or through spending millions of credits, a polearm that is exceptional enough to stand apart from the scores of crafted weapons easily accessable to the other combat aspects of all that is you.
Even then...am I a pikeman...or a combat medic with a stick?
