Thread: stats migration
Can some point me to a place to read about how this works and how to determine the best way to adjust this, I cannot really find any complete explination of how the stats migration works. Also, I have run into this problem with being completely healthy and no wounds and not being able to put on armor I had a few minutes before and have a buddy whose attributes are allmost all lower than mine but he can wear all Chiton armor while I can get all Chiton on except when I equipt the boots I am told I am not healthy enough.
I am sure I can figure this out if I can just see an explination of how the stats migration works.
Stat migration allow you to adjust your stats, however it takes time to do, about 1-5 days to change completely depending on how drastic the change. Depending on your profession you can adjust the stats to better suit your character. A medic needs more Mind while a brawler would want more Health. The section below will explain armor a little and why you would probably need to boost your secondary stats.
Armor is not affected by the primary line of the HAM bars, Health, Action, and Mind but rather the secondary stats of each, strength, constitution, stamina, quickness, focus and will power. The levels of these stats dictate if you can wear armor. The Encumbrance level of each piece of armor will lower these stats when equiped so if you go below 1 on a stat it will not allow you tow wear more armor. Go to the link below to erad about armor.

Hope this helps.
You really need to add together the health, action and mind encumberance's from each piece of the armour and then alter your secondary stats to match the totals.
For example, if the health encumberance totals 450 then you need to alter your stamina and constitution secondary stats to the same. (Bare in mind tho that altering it to the same total will mean when u have all the armour on the secondaries will be 0, so your hams will be shot in no time!) This is the same for action and mind.
Your best bet is to add a little on to the totals to take into account wounds and stuff.
But really you cant go wrong with a good set of buffs.
1. You cannot choose whether the slice be for encumerance or effectiveness. It's random. So be preparedthat you might need to slice more than one set of armor to get it just right. And if the slice is for encumberence it affects all encumberance vaules on the armor piece.
2. You can't. Only a smuggler can do that, by using the radial menu to see if the slice option shows up.
they can slice the items, but you can't choose, the slice is random in % and they can improve effectiveness or encumbrance in the armors, but is a matter of luck which one is going to be increased and in what quantity.
by now you can't know which one is sliced, looking the figures you can imagine it, a composite with 80-90% base effectiveness has been sliced for sure xD
2. No only someone with slicing ability can tell.
I have had the same problem with this and although I can now manage to wear a full set I am not sure if its worth it or not, yes it stops 40% damage but with most of my secondary stats at 10-20 HAM still drops very quickly and it takes an age to heal with it on.
My advice would be to get someone to slice it for you, then the parts that dont lower encumbrance go and purchase again and have those sliced to, its expensive but the only way imo.
On the forums theres a post on macro's find the one which lets you undress and dress with 2 keys, i found this invaluable. When you need to heal undress, when you need to fight press keys again to pull back on your armor
ok thnx guys
how much is a reasonable full set slice, and also i would like to call out to any master smugglers on ahazi to help me out, ive been doing /shouts but i thinks its a bit early for ppl
i will ofcourse pay you

Are you just looking to grind out xp? Are you already a Master Pikeman, and looking to PvP?
There are many different ways you can configure your stats based on what you intend on doing.
It looks like youre a wookie based on your sig. Species is another factor too.
