Thread: Why do we not have a 4x damage mod on hit3?

Just curious:
Assuming master of profession I'm comparing pike to other melee professions
Speed mod
Sword: +75
Pike: +75
Fencer: +90
TK: +115
Average Damage of Best weapon:
Sword: 400-500 max damage
Pike: 400-500 max damage
TK: 400-450
Fencer: 200-300
Average Speed of Best weapon:
Sword: 4-5 seconds
Pike: 4-5 seconds
TK: 2.2 seconds
Fencer: 2-3 seconds
Damage Mod of Hit3
Sword: x4
TK: x4
Fencer: x4
Pike: x3
Hit3 Speed Modifier
Sword: 2.5
TK: 3
Fencer: 2.25
Pike: 2.5
Would it have been so hard to make us have a x4 damage mod on hit 3, I know fencer weapons are less damage but they are faster, as well as TK

Because we have a x.5 delay shorter than all the other hit3's. The dev's thought it would compensate damage wise...... it doesnt. Just get enough tapes to hit the speed cap (getting there's a bizzich and a half), and once your there, you drop people in no time.

pike and sword have same speed modifier, fencer little less, and TK is a little more. besides, I'm at +100 speed on pike anyway so I want damage

We do have a 4x damage mod. See here.
Incidentally, I've confirmed this. 69 max damage combat staff attacking a lair with PH3 hit a max damage of 513.
(513 / 1.86) / 69 = 4

I'm pretty sure testing showed a 3x modifier on Hit 3.. we had an increase in damage from Hit 3 in publish 7, and then was nerfed again in Publish 8...

I tested today after reading this post. I did a hit of 4894 damage on my 654 max damage pike. 654 x 1.86 x 4 = 4865 so sounds about right, The npc was standing when I did it. I know there is a x2 mod if they are dizzy/kd, I think anyway.

No, it was NS protector so I was able to get quite a few hits in the test the theory

stavy has no problem hitting the speed cap =) (+25 speed bando) mine!!!
