This tip isn't just specific to pikeman, but I've seen it said that the lack of an auto-attack annoys some people.

Read an entire thread were people say they don't like that.

Here is what you do for any combat move. Hold down the CTRL key and click and attack. It will make that move auto-repeat.

Basically just put the attack button on your quick bar. CTRL+click the icon then you'll autoattack. You can do that with any move or attack in any professions. It'll just repeat that attack until you run out of action, or the enemy dies.

True but it is not an auto attack ability, to return damage when you're attacked by a mob someplace and can't tell who it is for a moment and you start taking a bunch of damage or attack the wrong target causing yourself more greif.
