Hello,

I played SWG back for the first 6 months after launch then quit due to burn out. I've kept an eye on the boards and decided to play again since it looks like they've added a lot and fixed a lot since I left. The game is now completely new to me, especially with the CU changing combat so dramatically and I'm a bit lost. they kept my old character on fiel so I picked him up from where he left off, as a master brawler, TKA 2222, and a pikeman 0000. I'm now a combat level 32. Previously, if I remember corectly, you got consistant levels of XP from each type of MOB, i.e. chubas gave 10 (or whatever) and bolle bols gave 1000 (or whatever) regardless of your "level". Now it appears that XP yields are figured based on your combat level relative to the MOB combat level. I took a kopi mission in Theed that was difficulty 17. The fights took a little while but I killed all the MOBs and destroyed their lair, collected my reward and recieved ONE point of pole arm experience for each of the MOBs killed even though the fight was fairly challenging for me. How does one go about earning consistant XP now? I pulled a mission that paid good but the XP sucked. Are we supposed to hunt for creatures of our approximate level or is there a trick to pulling missions that give good XP? I'm not sure how to proceed and I don't really care to wander the whole map of Naboo looking to stumble upon the secret to leveling... I recognize that it's very early in the life of the CU for most people so there probably isn't a great solution to my problem but I'd like to see if we can pool ideas and techniques if we can.

thanks
Chris

Ok, here is what i recommend. Get missions that are two levels below your current level on creatures that don't attack in packs like Rontos on Tattoine. Do your best to only aggro one creature at a time. Once the battle starts use center of being, hit them with intimitate and stun, then use the special of your choice until cob, intimitate and stun wear off, reapply, rinse and repeat until u win. If u have some medic u may wish to heal when u can. Keep an eye on your action. If u do aggro more than one, then your best bet is to run and then come back and try again. Hopes this helps. Of course this is without a hunting group.

May the CU be with you
