Why would you get 4000 Doc if you could re use the points in sword or other places in order to do more damage when you can just use stim packs to heal?

Stimpacks can only be usedonce per minute. If you used Ruby food, you'd get about 2200 points of healing per minute (not counting the ruby-stim-ruby-stim combo which fills up your tummy fast)

2200 isn't enough to heal yourself fully. Now compare that to doc, which you can alternate jab and shot, add in infusion, and you're going to get a lot more healing in addition to those stims. In PvP, you're going to drop fast unless you can sustain your health, and being able to heal early and often is a must

That is a good point. Maybe you can help me with this then.

Right now I am strictly PvE since I am working on the FS grind. I will be ready for Jedi though when phase 3 starts as it will be my last unlock. I also still have my respec token. I was thinking of dropping my Doc for the Sword specials and just using stims but now it sounds as if I should keep the doc in order to stay alive when I start as a jedi?

I would only worry about CL when getting Jedi. Keep your CL at 80, and then join a good group for grinding. Since you'll be doing low damage you won't have to worry about healing a lot since you won't be drawing agro. The group will most likely have someone that can keep an eye on you and heal you when necessary.

So either way you want to go will work, but I'd save onto that respec as long as possible incase (when you finish the Jedi grind) you don't like your template and wish to switch....would be a bummer to have to re-grind a jedi template.
