I tried pikeman out months ago and am thinking about doing it again with an alt (no I don't have a holocron)
However the last time I just had so many nightmares about the horrible accuracy.
Slow attacks plus constant missing = no fun.
How do you compensate and does it EVER get better.

Pikemen recieved an accuracy bonus in the last patch, but since I am already Master, I cannot vouch for its effectiveness.

It does get better as you go up the Support line for the accuracy bonuses. The latest patch helped some, too. At master, pre-patch I missed about 20-25% of the time with an LVA, now I miss about 10-15% of the time, it seems. Without those accuracy bonuses, the only thing you can do is use a Vibro Lance or a regular lance. Also, weaponsmiths can make VLs and LVAs with lower accuracy mods, at the expense of speed and/or damage.

how about grinding up the first 4 boxes in brawler. How's that?
Thanks for the replies by the way.

Accuracy will be a little troublesome, but the best advise for pre-novice is to stay away from the LVA. use a reinforced staff until you can use a basic lance, then stick with that.

It never gets better, the only good compensation is good healing abilities.

I'm plowing through the first 4 Brawler boxes. I had to stop and pick up medic however because I was tired
of having to take a nap in between mobs.
Accuracy doesn't seem to be a problem at all for me. The speed is not as bad as I thought, not great but not
too bad.

If you have the money then get doctor buffs, I would say especially at the brawler level, you will have a lot less down time and you can use your specials constantly, if you have enough mind regen that is. That way even though you will miss a lot, when you do hit it will be very nice. Try taking on some bigger mobs as well when you are buffed, the grind is so much easier.
