Thread: The Nuts of it: a TKM/PIKMANS take
Its know but the biggest problem is the ham costs.
Every other problem is minor.
It's crazy for a "Tank" to take 250 dmg from doing his own moves each round.
I've played tka and even with my VK's on the ham cost on pikman is still 2x higher.
The dmg for pikeman however is about 50% greater then the VKed TKa and only 20% better then a swordsman who's ham is also half as much.
Pikeman is fine against mobs that do 100-200 dmg per hit becasue armor can stop most of that but i'm trying to figure out how i can go up against kamirths on dath to get thehigh level boxes like i did for tka becaeu they can hit frm 300-500 dmg and with the special move costs i'll really be going down fast.
I know the HAM cost is big, but try that.
1) Find a WS who has more EXP points than 10.
2) Tell him to make some for weapons for you, in which he puts his extra points into HAM Costs.
3) Buy a few of them and get them sliced.
4) Find a Master Artisan and tell him to make some HAM decreasing powerups for you... I just got 32% Action/16,3% MAX damage.
5) USE THEM!!!
By that way, my special (PolearmHit2) cost me 83 HAM instead of 116. That's almost 1/3 down.
if you're a TKM, then your melee/ranged defense allows you to take on a vast amount of things that you would never be able to do as a solo pikeman.
The melee/ranged defense bonuses that you must have being both pike and TKM must be RIDICULOUS!!!!!
How do you like TKM/Pikeman? I am currently a TKA/Carbineer and have been toying with the idea of TKM/Master Pikeman. I would also probably master brawler. I currently enjoy the benefits of being decent at range and god up close. I find myself relying more on my TKA skills however.
As a pkieman/TKA which do you find yourself using more for PVE? PVP?
would you reccomend master brawler as well?
Yes, yes my melee defence is dam near 100 atm, and yes dewbacks cant' touch me lol.
However that being said i think the best melee combo might be Fencer/swordsmen or Fencer/Pikeman i'm not sure, but TKA/Pikeman will be fun once i master it and/or get the ham drain undercontrol
I concur. HAM costswere never a problem in my eyes, it was the fact thatwe missed so often that it could take 4 tries to land a special.
The only outrageous HAM cost to me is polearmhit3, considering it isn't even our best-DPS move since it has a damage multiplier of only 3 instead of 4, like other melee classes.
If anything, Pikeman teaches people to not spam specials, lest they meet an unfortunate doom.
