I have just started into pikeman (actually i am not quite to pikeman yet), but i was wondering what everyone's weapon of choice and powerup combo's are. I heard that the vibro lance is too low on the to hit modifiers.


Just wondering what everyone thinks.

the VL is more accurate than the LVA. You need both of them (kinetic and electric damage) if you are going to be effective at all on adventure planets. I don't use powerups.

i mainly use a speed sliced lva, but recently started using a damage sliced lva, works really well after u get more speed and accuracy. i nevery really used vl too often cuz of the lowish damage but i do use it for stuff with really high kinetic resist and it works pretty good, faster and less ham costs. when i DO use powerups, they are usually to reduce ham costs (i go for health) but befoer i had moer speed mods from teh tree i had some speed powerups that worked really well.

My VL does more damage than my LVA both are master weapon made and perfect sliced. Both are damage sliced.

wow, if i could find a vl that did more than an lva each with same slice, i'd SO take the vl, well for fighting most mobs, could u post stats plz plz plz .

Vibro Lance

Damage: 123-386

Speed: 4.1

Wound: 35.9%

Range Mods: -31/-31/-33

HAM Costs: 58/81/30

I have 5 VLs. This is the worst of the lot. The others have a little more damage and are 4 seconds flat. I have 5 LVAs too. Don't remember there stats though.

I have a badass nightsister lance. Just the regular lance kind, not vibro anything. Speed sliced at 2 even and I think 489 max dmg It rips most things to shreds.

Are there ways to enhance regular lances with krayt tissue or other loot items?

The most important thing about the VL is it not only has light armor piercing but does electricity damage. I'd still take my LVAs over that lance. They both do Kinetic damage, but the LVA has medium armor piercing.

I use a VLA mainly, unless electric damage is required cause then VL is chosen. However, you ask about powerups, and here's what I have come to realize is most needed:

You're going to need HAM costs lowerein powerups if you haven't gotten yourself one with low HAM costs. In case HAMs are low, then I d check how your speed mods are and how fast you're swinging that axe of yours in order to reveal your need in powerupsmods like say speed, damage, accuracy etc... if you'r a master PikeMan, I'd say go for Damage, as much as possible

ok, thanks for all your help. I will pick up the Vibro Lance, the long vibro lance, the long vibro axe, vibro axe and normal lances. I will play with then, and look into the ham lowering. Thank you all very much for your insight.
