Thread: Time to speak up NOW!

*WARNING* This post may seem very demanding, but ever since the release we have asked time and time again nicely, and got nothing. Now the combat rebalance is coming, so if we don't tell them what WE want, chances are our profession will become damaged beyond repair.




We're running out of time fellow pike warriors!


After the combat rebalance chances are we wont be getting the changes we want, so we need to TELL THEM what we want from OUR profession!



If you want me take of pikemen, I think we should have the greatest defense vs knockdown and the best toughness level of any melee class.

On top of that we should also have the lowest melee and ranged defenses (This goes along the lines of being slow, strong and defensive).



Now to keep us in balance we could be very slow, with our attacks doing massive damage per swing though.

Our high block level and more toughness would turn us into tanks, able to soak up alot of damage without being FoTM stacking professions like fencer is now (Polearm toughness would do absolutely nothing to help any other profession, and block would do extremely little for any other).


On top of this we NEED more area attacks. Our hit 3 should be an area attack simply because this is *supposed* to be a pikeman's speciality.



I know this is asking alot, but my last thought involves our Energy Lance.

The loot rate needs to be pushed up by a majority for the simple reason that right now, when people DO actually loot it they need the nightsister vibro motors, which are as rare, or rarer then the schematic itself.


Along these same lines, we need to have the Razor Knuckler for Teras Kasi changed.

I see Energy Lances selling for 10 million and up on my server, with all others around the same price.

Once the new TKA weapon comes out the prices will skyrocket for the simple reason that they will want our motors, and we all know TKAs outnumber us horribly.



So I'll end it here, I would like to hear what the rest of you think!

I really can't believe that since the release of the "player's guide" we've been nothing.... I mean look at it! You can see that we're broken from it....

This is what I mean, unless we TELL them what to fix they wont.


Pikeman is a rare profession because it's broken, and staying broken because it's too rare to fix.




We need to make ourselves heard before it's too late and they call us "balanced"

I like your idea of more toughness/block and more damage

we also need it fixed when something is KDed and hit with another KD move or Posture Down move it automatically stands back up... using Sweep2 is annoying when you knock back up half of what you been attacking. Same with hit3 it just stands things back up from its posture down effect.

We need a Heavy Armor Piercing weapon, we're supposed to be like the Rifle of melee, most damage but slower speed. I also wish they'd make sword action damage and make pike be mind damage like it seems it should be set up... Fencer/Pistoleer = Dodge+Health, Sword/Carbineer = Counterattack+Action, Rifle/Pike = Block+Mind. dunno if this will happen though.

I don't think our weapons should have negative accuracy, but I suppose ya gotta forfeit some advantages.

Be nice if they fixed Block it doesn't seem to work right.

I like Pike alot but we don't seem to be the heavy damage dealers we should be.

I kill endless people in PvP and in PvE..damage types sucks,..but thats where AP2 comes in.


Only bad thing i can say is the lack of effectiveness against high end mobs,..however the DWB wasnt a problem with pikeman..


Its bad in places, but it isnt that bad, and ive done every brawler prof.

Nice to hear it's effective in the DWB, I went in there with a large group who insisted no one uses area attacks... now that was a sad time.. imagine a Pikeman not being allowed using area attacks.. I just as well could be slinging wet socks at them for all I was worth down there.
