One of the questions asked during dev chat was bout advancment in a class after master. Before i continue let me explain jedi advancment a little. Jedi knight in the new system is the jedi master of now. BUT! You do not stop there. The progression after that is a prymid type tree with each segment only allowing a certian amount of people to hold it\(this was in the notes) so jedi can be amazingly power after jedi knight(master) and they will have something to work for such as keeping their place and strengh becuase each rank they get more power. What the devs said YES to is the same basic system for masters of other combat proffesions(not sure bout crafting) so preety much after master pike u can compete/advance even higher and gain more abilities but u have to be very active and very good at the class in order to keep ur place. This is not something that would be done before Space expansion but all of the devs liked the idea(even the lead programer) and said yes to the idea so its a very good possbility.

Uhm..

F that.

Would be one more reason to leave the game, at this point. I'm not too impressed with the level of service I've seen over the last couple weeks (I feel for Smugglers, really, I do). This is something that -no- one has been asking for, as far as I know.

Advancing beyond master level is a fine idea, but turning the game into another "you better play for 8+ hours a day or u r teh suq" game will piss most people off.

Say no to Everquest Galaxies.

The ranks are very limited in how many can be in each rank so it will be very rare to see them unless you get invovled, and I dont think a lot of people will be pissedas this question was asked to the panal of the highest devs and the roar and cheers of 1200 people was preety impressive. When pikemen are fixed great! but you will still have no where to go as a master pikemen. Those of us who have been pikemen for a long long time would love to advnace(like me i have been pikemen for exactly 10 months today starting on kauri then starsider then tempest).

It is a guild that allows people who love their class so much they are willling to give up everything like pvp with non ranked people, andeven their otherclassesto be ranked as one of the elite.

Yes, I fully understand what you're saying, and I'm in favor of advancement after master. However, I have felt since they announced it that the method of advancing the Jedi classes was an awful idea, and am completely against any such thing for the "normal" classes, as well. In essence, this idea promotes the 14 hour a day gamer, while telling those of us who want to advance but have jobs, families, school, or other responsibilities, to go take a flying leap.

If I'm wrong about the time investment, and competition with others, fine, but from what I read, the idea is flawed at best. I have no part in supporting it.

Just keep in mind that it doesn't punish you for not being a powergamer. It rewards people for committing to a proffession for a long time.

No, it does. If the "uber" jedi will be as powerful as is anticipated, PvP as we know it well go to the dogs. Having one player walk into the middle of Bestine for example, pull a saber and maul everyone there is bogus, it only encourages people NOT to PvP. The devs will probably say: "Wel, the wont allways be PvPing"... according to them if they want to keep their "uber" powers... yes they will.

I just don't get why they're trying to force this into a mainly PvP game! You'd think in a universe as rich as Star Wars, they could come up with some CONTENT. Maybe they're favoring the PvP'ers because they can't think of any content to put in...if that's the case, I have less respect for the devs.

I used to want to be a jedi, before the heart of the system forced PvP or at least Politician-type gameplay. now I'm GLAD i didn't unlock.

What I'd rather see for Pikeman (and other "Normal" profs) is a set of super long quests that may one day UNLOCK a profession above Pikeman. Like what the original Jedi unlock SHOULD have been. Like you could do a 2-3 month long quest, and unlock the "Elite Pikeman" profession or something. I dont think it'll ever happen, but unlocking stuff besides Jedi would make the game better, in addition to interesting content. Seems to be feast-or-famine lately. Either the quests are to easy, or ridiculously impossible (DW Bunker & Corvette) unless you have 20 or so players helping you.

I think advancement after master for every profession would be great fun. As long as they dont make the original "master" badges useless. For example a advancement of defences/new dmg typ for PvP characters, and maybe new dmg muliplyers vs NPC/creatures for PvE characters.

This would make the dedicated PvP/PvE ers happy. Its not **edit**y in any way because the one spending most time playing should definitly have the best character.

And for someone mentioning the DW bunker. Well, its pikemans playground tbh, everthing is low % vs ele

Thats a good idea Im up for anything that will advance us past master pike and this will be a little more fair to those who cant play as often. Geez wish we thought of this at fan fest would have been nice to put it forward.
