I'll try this again, and hope nobody hijacks my post. Last post i didnt get to the point, but this post I will.
I am looking for ideas to help us out. One of *my* main problems with pikeman is that we are out of our IDEAL range nearly 100% of the time. Granted all range mod problems aside, *if* we did have a good range mod on our VL's and LVA's then we wouldnt ever be in range.
In PVE all melee rushes in to within 3m or so, then procedes to auto follow us. This means no matter how hard I try I can never get the full power of my pike swing. Last I checked our ideal range was like 6-9m, whenever we back up to get in range, the mob follows us. THe same happens in PvP. Were basically plagued by our ranges. So in the combat rebalance, I'd like to see some sort of a "link" move incorporated.

This move would be on a lower timer a (a second or two) and cost virtually no HAM. Reason? This move would be a setup move. It would not do any damage, all it does is knock the other player off balance or threaten them so they ahve to take a few steps backward for our next hit. Since the next hit would be a full swing we'd get our full power of the swing. But this move would basically be linking a few moves together to setup for a more powerful combo or whatever.
So give us a move that allows us to put all melee within our range every time? Yes, but the part that would keep it in check is your adding a few seconds onto your move queue. We obviously couldnt be dependent on this move all the time, as in PvP since it would slow us down a bit, but it would also give us a chance to get a full power hit in when we decide and give us a fighting chance.
thoughts or ideas(constructive!)

definitly an intresting idea... as a side effect, it would probalby put a lot of other mele classes OUT of there ideal range.
it sounds almost like /aim for mele, and i think the added range changes could make for some very intresting tactics.
