Thread: i need a little help plz

I'm kinda new to the game and since i started i've been drawn to the pikeman proff. but i've been reading a lot ofstuffon these posts about how it needs to be fixed and im wondering if you think i should just give it up... is it worth the effort? And has there been any sign of the DEV's thinking about fixing it...
and ive read a lot about having dots.. and i was wondering if anyone could tell me how do get a good dot
sorry if these are stupid questions, i've only been around for so long

Don't get most of us wrong, the pikeman profession is really fun to play. Most would agree that if some of our top 5 issues were addressed, we would all be very happy with who we are.
In PVE we rock but in PVP we are dependent on difficult-to-find drops that almost anyone can use.
The fun part for me is being able to solo large groups of mobs up close and personal. It is a lot of fun in PVE. I don't think I will ever abandon Pikeman because it could be truly powerful one day (all around perspective). Even without PVP, the PVE aspect is a lot of fun.
The grind can be hard and long, but to be a Master Pikeman says something about you and your dedication.

If you're going pikeman mainly/only for the DoTs then you would be safer wearing a steak suit on swim with the sharks day at the zoo then posting here. Especially with me around.

I have also just decided to go for pikeman. It allways appealed to me as it looked fun and the idea of crowd control also seems good.
I'm hoping that pikeman at least gets the mod adjustments it needs to tank (like the devs seem to want them to do) if the specials get fixed and new weapons added (like they say are) I would be very happy.
I didnt know pikeman was good PvE which is very nice to hear.
Are pikemen intended to be a fast class and just arent or are they meant to be slow? There are so many things that seem wrong but also seem like they could easily fix. Pikeman, in theory, should be a fantastic class in PvP but because of the broken specials, stat mods and lack of decent craftable weps its lame. Now surely those arent hard to fix? its not like it needs to be completely redesigned, just a bit of fixing.
The really angry post should be stickied if anybody can imo. Even if the devs were waiting until the revamp to fix pikeman, the least they could do is say so rather than anoy the entire pikeman comunity...

To actually answer you question about how to get a good DoT, there are two basic ways.
#1: Go to Dathomir and kill every Nightsister you can. You'll eventually get lucky and loot a polearm with a good DoT (and until then you'll loot a whole lot of crap).
#2: Become extremely rich and buy them from people who did #1.
