Has anyone ever tried stackingblock from rifleman and pikeman? If so, how did that work out for you?

works like a charm. 125 is the max, but it's still way better than 80.
the suck thing is, though, that when you have armor on, and you block, your armor still takes a condition hit, even though you had 0 points subtracted from your ham.
sucks to watch all those blocks in your combat spam box and right after them you see 'your armor prevented 300 points of damage'.

I have maxed block on my char, dunno how effective it is as I always seem to end up fighting meleers in pvp, and most ranged pve dont last too long when I fight them.

Well, I block alot more than I use to being just a master rifleman.
But I am diappointed in a pike's tanking ability. I also have a master swords alt, and as far as damage taken, pike doesn't compare. I find myself usingstims far more tanking with pikes than swords. But that may have to do with block not being as good as counter attack, even though my block is maxed stacked with rifles.

that's because block is the only defenisve mod that takes damage.

Block caps at 125. A master pikeman has 115. Hardly seems worth stacking.

just did a test. yes it seems like it only prevents half. the damage done after the block succeeded does not show up in the combat spam box, however. but you do rain some damage above your head (albeit much less).
yet another reason not to bother with pikeman 
oh well, with 80% comp and buffs, it's not like it matters anyway.

Yes. One other thing. Any status effect associated with the attack you block still will effect you. Depending on the status defenses of course. But Block does nothing to negate a status effect.

Yea, but Im a master rifleman and I was thinking I could pick up 0020 pikes to cap my block. but I guess it isnt worth the skill points

It would work better if block was a 100% damage reduction instead of the 50% it is now. It only goes up to 125, and only food/skill enhancments in clothing/armor can push it above the 125 limit. 150 max with clothing/armor, and that can be pushed higher with the block enhancing drink. I will say block is better than nothing, but not by much.
