Hi there fellow pikemans.

I have been playing swg for a while now, and been pike for about 2 months+.

The to hit modifier. At first I thought it was only a actual "to hit" thing, if I hit or miss basicly.

I have been told that it also defines my minimum damage in a way. I have tried to research this but finding it a bit hard do get some real data.

Anyone got any good theories or even better some hard proof and have the time to explain this.

It has nothing to do with damage. The to-hit formula takes into consideration many things, your posture, target's posture, weapon range mods and distance to target, player accuracy mods, aiming bonuses, target melee/ranged defenses, state effects that affect to-hit, food bonuses. Each of these items is a to-hit modifier, they modify the "to-hit" formula, and the end result is the chance that you will hit your target or not.

I have to drag this up again.

I have a couple of guildmates that are master riflemans.
now their ideal range is very high on + and their pointblank is very low, negative.
They are doing the same damage reported in the combat window, but there are a difference what actually goes in on the target.
Not ofcourse a scientific research, but the numbers point that way.

There has never been any indication that accuracy has anything to do with damage.
