Hello all,
In the swordsman forums we have been discussing a weapon for Master Swordsman which would be considered our Elite Weapon and only dedicated players would be able to obtain. Its seems to be coming along and i am here to posting on every brawler profession to start a discussion for what you think would make a good weapon that would show how dedidcated and skilled you are as a Pikeman.
Our post is called "The Nameless Blade" incase you want to see what we have for ideas
I know you guys have some issues to be addressed first but as i see it its wount hurt to pass some ideas around.
Thank you for your time all

The NSEL would be a prime candidate of course. Unfortunately it really only shows how skilled we are as swordsmen or riflemen

lol - thats so true, one of the only reasons i am a master swordsman is to kill elders and the her.
Great post on the swordsman board though, really like the idea of each profession having a Master Weapon. Even the scythe i feel is in a stupid spot, no weapons certifiactions should be in the Combat XP branches of professions as it is not an indication of how skilled you are in that profession as all other give combat xp aswell.

I think if we are to have a master weapon it should be somethingmore easilyobtainable than the NSEL , and considerably stonger too. To be honest a master weapon , nice as it would be , doesn't bother me that much. I would however like to see a DOT cert somewhere high up in the pike skill trees.
As for you swordsman , good luck getting a master weapon , you are obviously in need of something new now that the scythes , exe. hacks and acklay hammers are getting a bit stale

I had a thought. You want an elite weapon for your elite player. Why not make it a quest item. Each player has to get a certain schem and certain types of resources. Thsi is similar to the swordsman quest for the Scythe blade and all thso espidery lookign droids i kept killing before I realized what they where. I woudl be somethign that nly you could make, similar to a Jedi and their light saber, and canot be used by anyone but the person who makes it. Different resources could be used for each part of the weapon as so no weapon is similar in power or speed, and they cannot be sliced. You coudl only do the quest overy so oftenm as so the player didnt have 3 weapons of thsat typ in their inventory. I think it would make for a new exciting experience that so far onyl Jedi really have, and would make th egame more fullfilling over all, if the melee elite coudl make their own weapon. Just an idea, tell me what you think abou **edit**.

At starwars.com i was watching the documentary on the weapons for Ep3 and about half way through they show an "electric staff". In the clip it shows 2 variations of it and then shows a little part of 3 guys vs Obi using it (there on the green screen). Well the whole idea of it was itis the only weapon thatcant be destroyed by a lightsaber, but in this game that wouldnt really matter. When i sawthe clipi thought of this post so i thought id give it a try. It might have been posted before. If so, sorry

The NSEL would be fine if only it was any good.
Sure it takes some dedication to get the loot for it, but a "master" weapon should not be too easy to obtain, obtaining the parts for the NSEL is just hard enough.

The NSEL goes well beyond "just hard enough" and deep into the realm of being ridiculous. A master pikeman can't even contribute to obtaining one using his own skills.
Months of dedication trying to obtain the NSEL have resulted in exactly 242 credits for me, and a lot of pointless trips to an empty cave. I even got a second account and mastered swordsman just to try to get the damn thing, but since I'm at work when the server is reset I've managed to find and kill Axkva exactly twice since that time.
Some time ago I suggested the NSEL schematic should be given as a final reward for completing the Singing Mountain Clan theme park and the motors given a chance to drop off nightsisters other than Axkva (perhaps only protectors and elders). I still think it's a much more sensible way to get it than camping the NS stronghold every server reset, and it's one that a pikeman can actually accomplish. Ideally the schematic would only be given to master pikemen at the time they finish the missions, anyone else completing the park would get a different, generic reward.
Before something like that is implemented I'd want nightsisters to get back their force powers and special attacks though, they're too easy at the moment. At their full power those missions are plenty difficult enough to justify giving the NSEL schematic.
Only problem is it would upset some pikemen who've managed to get the NSEL already and don't want anyone else to have one. Not to mention all the architects, armorsmiths, and chefs that carry them around for show.

pikeman is a little differant from the other brawler classes in the sence of weapons. And because of that this idea maybe harder to come up with then the other classes. Perhaps involving the Energy Lance? I know its very hard to get and this might mean that the difficulty of all the quests would have to be just as hard as finding the Energy Lance and then doing a quest to enhance it to its full potential. Though my idea of fun isnt waiting for some hag to spawn and hoping for loot. THats like EQ, hell no lol
My vision was something that if you wanted to, you could do it and not have competition or random looting system. Just need skill and willing to get it done. The problem is how hard can it be solo without getting tedious. Well thats part of the reason i posted on all the brawler forums
