Thread: Pike in PVP without DOT.

I was wondering if there is any way for pikes to be successful in PVP w/out having to rely on DOT? I dueled a TKM the other day and we just stood there beating on each other, adding up the BF not, not even scratching each other. Any tips?

Anyone got any other tips? I want to use pike to PVP but dont want to have to lean on DOT a bunch.

You will find you don't have much luck. Unless you have a pike with 400+ minimum damage you are not going to be doing enough due to the range of our weapons. I suggest going pike/______ , using pike for states (or dots) and the other profession as a damage dealer. You can always use your pike on someone with a ranged weapon equipped, and not suffer the melee mitigation. When I pvp find it best to stun/dizzy/intim then kd them followed by warcry while i switch to my rifle and finish them. Pikemen is amazing for jedi if you have a high damage pike. I wouldn't reccomend not using some sort of fot though.

Get wood staff fully experiemented for accuracy, and then find a looted LVA with 800+ damage...once you have that, you can effectivly stack status mods and do enough damage to people with armor to come out as the victor relativly quickly.

On the topic of PvP, has anyone here had experience with killing Jedi? I am not a big fan of going mainstream routes, so I am considering which melee profession to add to my BH template. While TKA or Fencer seem the obviously easiest choices, if Pikeman or Swordsman CAN do it, I happily take the performance hit just to not go the cheap and easy route. Any ideas?

Works on some, but players like me just seem to be resistant to stun/blind/dizzy....SOE really needs to cap the defenses.
Other than that sig says it all bypass the BF and embrace the DOT.
