Hello everyone. I'm thinking of trying out a new combat profession and I've heard a lot of buzz about pikeman. No, I'm not a dabbler and I don't follow FOTM. Heck, my main character is a Ranger/Pistoleer. I'm the kind of player who chooses a profession because of it's uniqueness, or potential to be unique, and I tend to look to the less populated professions. I think I might like pikeman because it seems like the people who chose it, stick with it despite the fact that it may need some love, kinda like us rangers because we love the title almost more than the actual skills we have.

So I'm wondering, do you think I might be suited for pikeman? Also, would you say pikeman is more suited for PvP or PvE, or does it lend itself well to both types of play?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm mostly a PvE player anyway so that's good to hear.

for PVE, pikeman are great. we arent as mighty as swordsman with their blast hammers, but our area dizzy/kd and (looted

) high damage lances make usunstoppable to everything but the highest kinetic/electric resistant mobs.

as for pvp, we are on the low end of the food chain, behind all the melee porfs. DOTs are unfortunately our saving grace

This is one of my first posts on the forums and i went ahead and mastered pikeman just to get a feel for all the problems that was with the class but never in my dreams could i of imagined how much i love the class. I just gotta say, congratulations to all you pikeman that stuck through all the hard times and continue to stay loyal to the pike

This is definetely the class for me.
