So there we where on Dathomir. Me and my other two PA mates. Zaedion a
master of all things sharp and pointy and johnny-umah maker of all dangerous
tools and healer from misuse of them, decided to
get away from our home on naboo for some fun and excitement. We landed
at the science outpost since that seemed to be in the middle of it all
and decided to check out the nets to see if there was any work to be
had. Picked up a few cleaning out the vermin types and set off, don't
really understand why that noble wanted a garden out here. We had
heard reports coming across the holonet about how dathomir was supposed
to be the toughest place to be even after sudden evolutionary changes to
some of the creatures making the planet even that more inhospitable but
did we pay heeds to these warnings, nay we took our pay for clearing
these near creatures.
Setting off from the outpost it was all a breeze, just some steep hills
to navigate and nothing larger than a mouse for all we could see.
Then we come closer to our final destination and we saw why this placed
was to be feared. We were surrounded. Through all our navigated we had
let our self be surrounded by some low life creatures. We feared not we
where some burly men and thought oh well if one or two attack it shall
be no problem. Hah famous words.
The charge came all of a sudden first it was one then all the others
followed. We were ambushed. Now normally I swing a pretty big stick
but looking at the tidal wave coming at us there was no way I was going
to make it for long. I pulled out my metal reinforced staff and started
swinging. It was mayhem baz nitches were flying left and right, I was
reminded of a recent holocron I came across in a cantina called the
Matrix or something where the hero used a metal pole and sent bodies
flying to win his fight. I turned myself into a tornado of furry.
Spinning faster and faster there was no stopping me. I was hitting
elven of these baz nitches and sending them flying away at once. Blood
and spit was flying left and right. Gore covered the landscape, the dead
and soon to be dead created a nightmarish landscape with constant twitching.
The bodies soon began stacking making it hard to tell the dead from the
living but I kept swinging relying on my other friends to do the dirty dead
to kick them when they where down and helpless. I didn't care I just wanted
the nightmare to end. Soon the frenzy wore off as ambushers became the hunted.
Those that dared to come in the circle of death that was created were tracked
by the dripping blood that pooled around our feet. All told thirteen baz nitches
was all we were able to identify as being laid to waste.

sorry but I am not that good of a writer.
As you can tell this is where the polearms seem to excel in will
be large groups of mobs and doing crowd control. Ham costs arent that
big of a deal if you have a full time medic. Another thing I have noticed
in doing groups of mobs is have a ranged person that is willing to get
the runners its no fun to have a mob run away and poof after a good fight
and see a few thousand xp go away. The way I "see" myself as a polearm
user is that I can either do crowd control and some damage and let other
people deal the damage or we can go all out and deal crazy damage but
you better hope that you have a medic and you dont get hit. This is
just from what I have seen when I play when I dont have to worry about
getting hit and I can just special and berserk away.
Now the people in the group was me a polearm with a reinforced combat
staff with polearm sweep 2 which is area knockdown , a almost tka master,
and a pistol user with meds to keep us going. Normally the tka can
handle up to 3 with his knockdown and I just berserk with a Long vibro
axe and mow them down. For this I used a reinforced combat staff for
ham costs and spammed sweep2 to keep them all down. Now if you ever
fought baz nitches you know when you knock them down they do fly away
and I was doing this to 10-11 at once depending on if I hit and I
usually managed to get most of them. Unfortunately the screenshot I
have doesn't do it very well since its not a very good circle and some
ran away so you cant see it plus the whole mobs dying on each other runs
the effect of the amount we did at once. It was that once time that
really made it worth it to be a polearm user being able to keep them all
down and just keep going. The medic was the main reason we could do it
with us spamming specials all the time Otherwise we would have been dead
but not after we put up one hell of a fight. This was pre patch with the
all the combat changes but what from what I have played so far 1-2 hours worth
I could still do it using a combat staff.
Let me know what you think, course I can already here the 11 mobs knocked
at once with 100 ham cost "NERF" so shhh dont let the other professions know
but if you go through the "fun" of getting the speed , support , and defensive
lines I think we deserve a little fun once in a while.

Yeah as posted many times before, Pikeman OWN in Player VS Monster. Our area knockdown (sweep2) is disgusting. In PvP however, that is a different story.

well like most people who have been to dathomer i have some stories too but the one i like most was when i was playing crowd controll in a group that got attacked by 3 rancors at once. it was a nasty situation especialy cause i did not have sweep 2 (still dont actualy) but since i am a master brawler i do have intimidate2. basicly i just intimidated them all and then used sweep on them all in turn. i must admit that having a master doctor helped, not for the ham cost cause im a master medic too but for keeping all the ranged people who managed to get agro alive.
basicly 6 people Vs. 3 rancors= the most fun i have had yet.
only thing i wish i could of done different is taken some screen shots, totaly forgot to do that ![]()
