Thread: Increased HAM costs on knockdown will KILL Pikeman!
According to people on the Test Center, all knockdown moves have had their HAM costs TRIPLED! My Sweep1 already takes 200 health, I can't imagine 600 health per sweep. SilverSurfer, please tell me this doesn't apply for Pikeman! ![]()

Bounder is correct. At least this is the case for me as a TKA. I must unequip my VK's in order to use any styles including KD or the HAM costs become staggering as it stands even now. Find your lowest HAM ecumberance weapon and equip it for sweeps.
I think a great way to balance Melee with Ranged and make Melee stronger in melee situations is to not reduce the knockdown HAM costs for Melee attacks. Ranged knockdowns can affect anyone 64m and closer. Melee knockdowns affect, what, 5m? or is it 15m? Anyway if we have equall knockdown HAM costs it is unequall for ranged to have greater range. To balance, i think we should, through the correspondant, suggest that Melee knckdowns be less HAM cost than ranged.
Like we all know should happen is in melee combat a Melee fighter shouls have advantage. At a distance it should be ranged, of course.
I would also propose a fix to change ranged knockdown would be to give more kncokdown defense and more defensive tactics to Melee fighters. I mean really, Does it make sence that a pistoleer should be able to walk up to a Pikeman and knckdown the pikeman? no. The pikeman should have a great Melee defense to and ranged knockdown of this nature because if the Pistoleer gets close to the Pikeman there is this very large vibrating stick that will come into contact with his leg and ambutate it.
But then again, I am using logical reasoning too much. Maybe that is where I keep going wrong.
I could chain knockdown him and he could me and we both have master defensive tech. Next tried a person with advanced unarmed and they did lunge, I am on my knees. So much for that defense working.
The news about the HAM costs for melee tripling is very dishearting. Pikeman above all classes are at a large disadvantage when it comes to doing any special moves, especialy knockdowns. We are literly killing ourselves to use the moves that we have worked so hard to get, so whats the point in having specials if we can't use them effectively in combat?I, like most other pikeman, use acombat staff for my knockdown moves. Although this technique is rather effective it makes the gamequite anoying androbs combat of any fun that it might contain. The HAM cost for pikeman are already rediculously high and we don't need an increase. PLEASE x_silversurffer make our voices heard.HAM cost should be our top priority! I agree that the accuracy stinks but missingeverynow and then wouldn't be a big deal if it didn't cost me 200 health points to do it. FIX THE HAM COSTS
