pikeman are worst pvp end of story.. weapon is to slow to lunge/sweep even thought i have a 3.3 87-336.

to sweep i have to switch to my combat staff or i kill myself with ham..

i NEVER hit with my vibro axe and when i do, it doesnt do much

i fought a TK without special moves...i hit about twice for 50 damage each shot the whole fight, in other words i got slaughtered.

the only thing i think they should fix for pikeman is the accuracy, its a killer

wow nice lance, here is a tip that i use when pvp,...and i am just a little ol novice pikeman with polearm sweep and leghit2

let them challenge you to the duel, that way you can get ready set your fingers on the hotkeys and get them ready,...now except there duel all the while you press polearm sweep first, when it knock s them down polearm hit2 then rinse and repeat= death for them, everytime also works on marksman, the key there is just dont accept there duel until you run right up on them, if they run before you accept, just dont accept, cause then,...you done for, also works on npc, i can solo almost anything as long as i knock them down, the only damage i get is from speacial moves to my ham, cause they never hit me once

first..the weapon is a vibro axe = )...second i got sweep 2 and stuff so im not exactly a novice =) yeah..but other than that i didnt read the post under this one..so technically i should be replying to the other one hehe

I always go against my friend in the game who is a TKA. We dueled each other practically every lvl we got, and I beat him almost every time. It was just when he got the vibro knuckler that it got challenging, and now I win about 4/5 matches.

Pikeman rocks in PvP, you just have to know how to milk it... like me and my "Novice Musician" title that I keep on

Hey guys im novice pikeman. I'm wondering if our profession has extra range compared to other ones. Since we hav long weapons and we swing slow (we should be given extended reach/range).

lol silver.....i know what u mean by milking it, when im bored and looking for trouble (not that i would ever do that..lol), i will either go overt, or just look for an **edit** that is shooting off his mouth somewhere, and i keep my "Homemaker" title on..lol......they are kind of surprised getting that 3k hit from a homemaker..=D

and yes hydez, we have extra range, TKA range is 1, ours is 3, their max is like 4 i think, our max is like 6, and i can usually hit bigger things from 8-12m away

Too bad we are on two different servers Apake, cause I also have the Homemaker title, and we could scare the sh...oot... out of people. "Wow, I didn't know that Homemakers were so good!"

your tka friend must be bad...cuz all he has to do is kD2 you and you lose. Nobody can get up from dizzy knockdown, at least when i duel my master tka friend that is. 1 shot kill

Yes, it has been known for a while that pikeman is the worst melee PvP. So if one chose Pikeman for PvP, big mistake. Pikeman are however the best player vs multiple monster.

I dont understand how you can say Pikeman is the worst PVP, I watched a TK Master and a Pikeman Master go at it for 3 rounds and the Pikeman won 2 of them, the only round that the TK master won was when both players agreed to use no specials. This was all before the patch.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I've yet to be beaten inover 20duels since the patch.

Strategy?

First of all, have master brawler so you can use Lunge2. If you don't have this, don't bother PVPing as a melee class. Polearmhit3 is the 2nd reason this works, so if you don't have it, here's something to look forward to when you get Master Pikeman. You will also need to be able to use at least a decent Stim B to have the power to heal your HAM bar that will get depleted from specials.

1. When the /duel commands are being passed out, be the challenger. Hover around 10-15m away from your opponent. If your opponent is a melee'r also, then running in circles at this distance works very well.

2. Be pounding your Lunge2 key as fast as possible as soon as you type /duel. The first knockdown will insure victory.

3. After you knock your opponent down, chain polearmhit3 and dont let up unless you need to heal yourself. I do 200-700 dmg with it, plus thebonus from medium armor piercing on an LVA. Between the stun and the posture down, they will not get a chance to hit you ever again unless you miss twice in a row.

If you get knocked down first, then you may or may not be screwed depending on who you are fighting. The key is - DONT GET KNOCKED DOWN FIRST.

Good luck. There's light at the end of the PVP tunnel when you hit master.

1) the TKA friend of mine was of similar lvl to me all the times we fought throughout gaining skills. Yes he uses his kd tactics on me, but sometimes he misses lol, also, we have a sweep of our own. it works on him as well as his works on us. And as forduels that do not include kd. I always win, more damage + sliced speed weapons, they will always do the job. (btw he is also my slicer, imagine the irony in that!)

2)Romeo are you on an anti-pikeman Crusade? If you are unhappy just surrender the skills and do something else, you don't have to keep posting that "pikeman are the worst PvP class". Because they aren't, and I almost never lose.
