I got an idea while surfing through the in concept forum under the pikeman thread... and someone (i'm sorry but i forget who) mentioned a "/pin" move that pikeman should be able to do as one of their unique abilities. That would be pretty cool, but i think i have something a bit more realistic.
We already have sweep moves to knockdown and opponent (presumably because we can swing a very heavy lance and knock the legs out from under them). Well, how about an attack that instead of sweeping out the oppenents legs, instead damages them, so that they move at a very reduced speed (for a set period of time). This might help out with the issue of kiting.
Anyways, what do you think (and please let me know if their are any glaring wholes in this post)

From what i understood from the thread, it was along the lines of the pikeman throwing their pike at the target, pinning it to the ground, or something of the like.

I do like the sound of a move to slow down my target for pvp purposes. /taunt seems to do it for PVE, and don't really know how effective it is on PC's. If it works on PC's no need for that new move.
The only thing I see the pin move doing is making the pikeman everyone's favorite person to go hunting with for xp. I'm already pretty much that with my KD/Warcry/Dizzy/Peace combo, then just stand back as my guild mate finishes them off.
But if it's going to be one of the two, my vote definitely goes for the slow down move, nothing like not having terrain negotiation and trying to run down a target with a ranged attack
I also request that anyone who said we don't need dizzy go back and edit their posts immediately to remove that comment. KD/Dizzy combo makes you the best crowd control there is, yet some of the reasoning for no dizzy i've seen is that we're crowd control and don't need....HUH?
Our area dizzy I think is even more effective of a crowd control move then area KD is. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather my targets not be able to get up after I KD/Dizzy, or even just dizzy rather then KD my targets for a few seconds only to have them all get up and have at me again.
