Yesterday for a few mins the corespondent fourm got "Bugged" and was unlocked for all to see.

Well, I poked around and read this.

>>Arjun,

>>Lets keep things in perspective. The devs are are doing a complete Jedi revamp which is going to take two publishes and basically leave a lot of professions in the cold before Space.

>>There are no changes that will take place between now and then and "its too hard" surely isnt a platform position I can defend. Besides the fact that you have a major club of power gamers who will try to pressure you into caving, the fact is, that the game is being majorly changed based on the player desire to revamp the Jedi system. AND we changed the Jedi Crafting process to address the rare loot loss.

>>What I might suggest though is applying your people skills. Guide them and help them learn how to share tips with each other and overcome the challenge. The hard truth is that there will be little else before the revamp.

Now how do you take this.... as that the devs don't plan on fixing the professions before space expansion or as a pun as space is cold?

I'm pretty sure TH remark was towards the SE. That means we could see many more frustrating months ahead of us...

But In either case. I think thats utter BS that they would put the rest of the borken professions behind the one nearly imposible profession to unlock that some people will never unlock during there entire SWG carrire.

The second phrase in bold shows that the devs arnt planing much else for jedi before those two publishes.

BUT TWO WHOLE PUBLISHES! Comon people. Thats like 3-6 months!

Hummm, if this is true it's really sad.

Well, at least it seems they're trying to maintain some semblance of difficulty. That's somewhat positive to hear. As for leaving the "common" professions behind...the fact is that this game has mostly become all about Jedi. People are either Jedi or trying to become Jedi, add to the fact Lucas' aggressive marketing of Jedi and the fact that many people buy the game to become Jedi, and you see the true, sad fact that Jedi=$$$. It's an underestimation of the playerbase. SOE has passed the point of no return, they cannot keep Jedi as an ultra-rare class anymore, restricting the openings will infuriate so many, but allowing the current flood of Jedi to enter the game will also end up infuriating many. In the end, Jedi will become (in terms of economy, story, continuity, fairness, etc) the undoing of the game.

Honestly, who didn't want to be a Jedi before the holocrons were introduced? I certainly did. But the way they have implemented it is terrible, and the class has attracted and will continue to attract anyone and everyone, from people who don't want a challenge, people who just want to craft, and especially the most unsavory players on each server.

On my server, we've already seen successful Jedi raids (a group of 7 or so) on Bestine and Imperial player cities, and this can only be expected to increase. I do not look forward to the same exploiters and griefers who played their regular characters, and made people hate them, having immense power and nothing to hold them back from using it whenever they wish, and/or ruining the game for the rest of us.

The uniquness of the Jedi was ruined the day they introduced the holocronsystem I wonder how they plan to feed the masses ones this so called "revamp" hits? It should get very interesting...

I too wanted to be a Jedi when the game first came out. Seeing the holocron system and seeing the types of people who are actually powergaming their way to Jedi has changed me completely.

The profession now sickens me and I am totally aware that this is only a game and how harsh that statement is but I mean it. The constant whining by the "Jedi", the exploiting to Jedi and the exploiting through Jedi (rooftop xp anyone) hasmade me want to stay as far away from that professionas possible.

I'm sure there are noble Jedi but the whiners, exploiters and griefers who are opening up their FS slots by the truckloads has given them all a bad name. And this comes from a former Bounty Hunter during the days of eyeshot spamming. I think the calibur of Jedi are a far more worse lot than eyeshot spammers ever were.

I want absolutely nothing to do with the Jedi of SWG.

You'd think the devs would've planned this all out before the first holocron came to be. But then again this is SOE we are talking about. So once again, due to their incompetence the general players suffer.

What disappointed me about the Jedi system was that it relied on just mastering professions. I always thought it would be a series of difficult quests and clues that you would have to solve. From what I hear, that is the way the devs plan to make the path to Jedi in the future, but why wasn't it that way from the beginning.

Master Artisan, Master Dancer, Master Pikeman, Master Bio-Engineer...congratulations you are now a Jedi. WHAT?!?!

I am looking forward to seeing if there are any concrete changes for Pike. Between my frustrations with the holo grind and giving that up, I am hoping for a more intelligent way to attain Jedi. If things remain the same or close to it, I think I might throw in the towel after playing since Beta.
