Thread: what is the PIkeman claim to fame?

Hey guys I honestly can say that i know squat about the Pikeman profession. I always thought they were a defensive profession but find out that fencer is the defensive, as Swordsman is the dmg dealer and tka is for the med and knockdowns. So my question is what is the pikemans thing? Is it dmg? Knockdowns? Shine your knowledge on me!

Pikeman at the moment have no claim to fame. I completed the corrent FotM (Swordsman/Pikeman, Fencer, and TK) a few weeks ago, and with that combo Im almost unstopable.
Pikeman has neither a High DPS, nor high defence (like we all want). I guess our biggest "claim to fame" is our DOT lances. Hitting someone with a 200 strength mind fire gets you noticed real fast. But it is also our biggest problem with the profession. We don't want to rely on loot to be good. For more insight, scroll these forums a bit, and look at the Rant/Praise threads.

Our claim to fame is by design supposed to be defense and power. We are slow and *can* be very powerful. But unfortunately, our profession is riddled with holes. We are all waiting for the combat balance patch like a televangelist waiting for god to take him over a million dollars! We think its coming, but only god(s) know for sure.

Like Psykeman said, its probably the loot that is the claim to fame. Or our (ArkMindSpears's specifically) rants. those are pretty good to

Haha! Nice. Thanks guys for the info, and it does truthfully help. And in all honesty I am leaning towards Pikeman over swords man after some forum trolling. Biggest reason is that everone goes swordsman. I like the specials and the electical dmg. Also i think it would stack good with my master fencer stuff. Thanks again for the honesty and non flames!
