Iknow where you got my first flame, but I edited it out and I gave that guys a four star for his post. I am going to take this as a lesson and not flame again unless it was like my flame I was talking about in the thread called, "Pikeman is by far the worst profession in all of SWG" Thank you for posting and like I said, I will think before I post.

Do not judge me by the post you saw in this thread, look at my other posts and you'll see that this is the second time I've flamed.

I just came back to SWG after abouta 5 month hiatus. I really didn't want to pick up any of my old characters so i started a new one.

I am at polearm 3 and working on polearm 4.

It's like pulling teeth tryin to do missions. I miss so much.

I'm using a Night Sister's Lance.

Can anyone give me some tips?

Would I be better off scrapping my Pikeman dreams and heading for 2 handed.

Rodians have natural pluses to 2 handed weapons. I am a Rodian.

pike takes the patience to wait 6 seconds between shots b4 novice. It also begs for you to ignore the combat screen filled with the words *miss*. If you can do that, you'll grow to love it. But even higher up were still mighty bugged. If you want a quick fix of power, goto 2 handed or TKA. If you wanna be the baddest man on the block stick with pike.

Master Pikeman are the only Masters in the game get deserve respect. They are the ones with the patience of an oxe and the stubborn streak of an entire herd of jackasses. But once you get there, you get total respect, nobody snickers behind your back b/c your proffesion is *still* broken. Nobody snickers b/c a novice brawler can hit you 25 times b4 you get one hit off on him .

Last part was all in jest. It takes a thick skin to stay a pikeman.

I bought a regular Lance and stopped using that Night Sister Lance I bought off the Bazaar.

It made a HUGE difference. I hit more with it, and do more damage. I don't get why there is such a big difference between the 2.

The stats are pretty much the same. The regular Lance has a faster attack rate andlower HAM cost.

If I need to I can use the NS lance for intial hits to do DoT, and then switch to old faithful.

Now it feels like I'm fighting at the lvl I'm supposed to be fighting at.

You should consider picking up some Citrus Snowcake from a chef. The stuff I have is +40 accuracy with 27 filling. It made a massive difference in leveling in pike.

I read that one guy's How to lvl Pike thread and he said that LVA was too in accurate till you hit Novice. Is that true? Keep in mind I don't even have Polearms 4 yet. But If I can get my hands on a LVA I'll definitely use it.

I wouldn't use a LVA until you have a couple of accuracy/speed boxes in Pikeman. At polearms 3 I'd use a speed sliced Vibro Lance, and just go berserk. Then when you get spin attack you can either use that to hit multiple mobs at once, or continue to go berserk. I think I pretty much berserked my way to novice pikeman.

They changed the accuracy on the lva in one of the patches. Mabey you read an old thread.

But the lance needs to go for sure.

Yeah I 86ed the lance after I bought a LVA and killed even conned mobs in one hit. very happy.

Man that guy's post that's stickied about how to lvl Pikeman; I think he should update or get rid of it. I don't think it's very accurate.

btw. How much does speed and accuracy tapes cost?

yeah, its like that is the cliffs notes version on how to level pikeman, gives only minor detail and leaves you to the rest. His intentions were good in making a faq, his downfall was the final product.

for gods sake, use an LVA. I can understand how you wanted a root cannal after playing with a NS pike.

And if that pike has a DOT, which I'm pretty sure it does, it steals xp.

You should be using an LVA until you hit master, basically.

What makes you say that my guide is bad? I had alot of people come in there and compliment the guide!
"Cliff's notes on leveling Pikeman" What? I think I put in a good amount of detail and I don't like people bashing my posts.

EDIT: Edited out a "jerky" part of this post

Man cool out. It's a free country and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I wasn't downing you. I tried to follow what you said in the guide, but it didn't work for me.

You said not to use the LVA until after novice because the accuracy would be horrible. I didn't and tried to stick with a reg. Lance and a NS Lance. I had a really hard time. I started using a LVA and I have made much better progress.

I thought that's what profession specific boards were for...
