Pikeman Archive

I am a Master Ranger, and I have always viewed my combat professions to be the means to my Rangering ends.

I tried Pistoleer, TKM, Fencer, Swordsman and lastly Pikeman.

My goal was to find what blends well with being a Ranger. I honestly did not expect much from Pikeman, however, I tried it to see what it was like.

The result, I had the most fun with pikeman than I have had with any other profession (being a ranger, maybe I have a soft spot for underdog professions)

The look of a pikeman in action is by far the most satisfying I have had.

I am not a combat stacker, since I like being a ranger... and with that said, I have found that my success vs. failure rate in PvP has increased. With well placed bleeds, a nice weapon, (I have yet to find an amazing weapon) and the use of some good tactics, I have won 4 out of the last 6 fights I have been in.

I read the helpful guides in the pikeman forums for help in leveling, but for me, I tended to level naturally as I hunted for specific resources to help out my guildies.

I had planned on exploring carbineer and rifleman.... however, the way that I play the game lends itself to the way pikeman fight.

I tend to lurk and read the boards, I think that this is my first time posting here..

I just wanted to say that you have a great community here, Gunman, you are doing a great job and I have nothing but respect for you.

I hope that as I gain better tactics and experience playing the game as a pikeman, I will be able to add to the conversation about the role of pikeman in swg.

I hear ya brother, The two professions I've been the most proud of mastered were, Pikeman and Pre-XP boost BH. I'm so sick of TK's its sad. they are freeking everywhare.
