Thread: Any pike/docs out there?

I'm really enjoying the pikeman proffession right now, and I just want to ask if pike/doc is a good combo. Im currently pike/tkm, and was able to beat my pistoleer/smuggler/tkm friend in a duel using pikes (no dots) but in PVP i find myself using pikes for the dots then switching to tkm and head hitting...Would I still be able to do some good in PVP? My other friend is a tkm/doc, and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get him lol. Tkm got boring fast, so I need a change of proffession...so is pike/doc good?
Btw, as of right now I have +93 polearm speed from attachements, if that changes anything lol.

Master pike/ Master doc here, I love this template...for PvE you'll be fine
As for PvP, I think this template is more geared for group PvP than solo. Your at +93 speed, thats good. Also try to cap out on accuracy, Im +19 myself and rarely miss, even vs fencers on pikatta. As far as the doc part of your template, it helps a ton, being able to cure intim,stun, and heal dots can keep you alive much longer.
I think the biggest problem with this template as opposed to a stacker template, is the relativly low melee and ranged defense...basically your gonna get hit most of the time, and block only stops 50% of the damage. This is really what hurts in solo PvP...but with the right guys you can be pretty effective and have lots of fun.

Cool thanks Right now I'm using snowcake to make up for my accuracy(i have +1 accuracy in my shirt...rofl...weee). Do you mainly use dots or high damage pikes for PVP? And..sorry if this has been asked before, but what specials do you use in PVP? Hit3 causes a posture change...so I hesitate to use it, and leghit3 seems like it hardly does any damage(even when the opponent is kd'd). Hmm...and I'm currently using a 520 max damageLVA lol.

as far as Dots vs High damage LVAs, depends on what you have availble to you and who your fighting. For example, I usually get my @$$ kicked by speed capped swordsmen because they take out my mind so fast if I try to go toe to toe. In those cases, i tend to drop a mind fire and run

im master pikeman 0040 pistoleer, 3040 doctor. very fun template, good for pve as long as you have the right weapons, good in pvp if you have the right weapons too, lol, but useing dots and being able to cure states and dots is great. the pistoleer 0040 is for defense against states and kd/posture change, and ranged mitigation 2. im not that bad against jedi, its annoying not having intim 2, but intim, stick an action fire and spam leghit with a high damage lva and you should do pretty well. stay ontop of the dizzy/intim/poison heals in pvp, they are crucial. plenty of options with pikeman/doctor, matter of opinion

Can i ask what weapon you are using? a player crafted LVA? a NS lance with + range modifiers....
Just asking cause I have have capped accuracy and speed..... I miss fencers alot with a 1100 LVA with -45 mods, but I use pups that increase range and damage....

I generally use crafted pikes as I havn't been able to get ahold of any really good looted ones
although my dot pikes have bad acc and I don't miss with those either /shrug. Also, as I mentioned im earlier post, I have +19 acc in attachments, and that seems to be what makes the difference.
