I was wondering what you guys would recommend for some ability combos when hunting and pvp.

Much depends on the speed you are at with the weapon. I don't PVP, so I will leave that to others.

pve:

against single targets, I generally begin with spammingintimidate until they get into strike range of my LVA. The time periods stack, so nail them with it as many times as possible. If you are starting the fight with a ranged weapon, I generally switch while they run at me, then use a /warcy; /peace; /peace macro to delay them until I can stack on some intimidates. Higher level NPC's and creatures do not get delayed often, so I skip straight to intimidate. I then generally start the beatdown with Pole Arm Hit 2. This sticks stun pretty often, even against many of the mid level nightsisters, like spell weavers, stalkers, and protectors. Once they are both stunned and intimidated, I have some breathing room to work in. Time to stick on some bleeding with action hits. After these stick, I start spamming leg hit 2. I'm capped with it using my damage sliced LVA, so I don't use 3. If you are fortunate enough to be fully speed capped, spam leg hit 3 instead. You can also try spin attack 2 or area 2to try and stick a dizzy state, then try for either a posture down with leg hit 3, or pole arm hit 3, or a sweep before starting in on the action pool. If they are KD/dizzied, do not use hit 3, norleg hit 3. If you do, theywill stand up. Leg hit 3 is great if they start to wander off, as the posture down can keep them from getting away from you. best advice, is to check which attacks will yield the highest dps for you using a good dps calculator. It seems as though about 60% of the unaimed hits hit health, so remember to reduce the dps figures accordingly for hit 1, 2, and 3, as well as any area attacks.

Against mid levelgroups I generally spin attack 2 until everything is grey, and lifeless at my feet.

Against groups of high level mobs, I generally use /burstrun, lol

hope some of this was helpful.

I generally use the same method as Tyyylowyspetily for pve. I try mixing area2, spin2 and sweep2 against groups of NPCs, area2 for the dizzy, spin2 and sweep2 for kd/max dps (not speed capped, silly me picked enhanced reflexes: vehicle control instead of melee speed *sob*).

I can't find any pikeman in cornet on Ahazi so I am coming to you guys to ask you a question. Im a pike 4-1-3-2. I have enough XP to get 4-2-3-2.

Doing this I will gain area attack 1 but no other bonuses.

-Or-

I could wait til have enough XP to get 4-1-4-2.

Doingthis, as you know, will give me defence bounuses.

I'm just not surewhich would be the best to get so if any one can give me any opinions or suffegestions. I am thinking I should go for defence but I don't know if area attack 1 is better to have over spin.

Man, at this point it doesn't really matter. Either you get a redundant skill (Area 1) or you get +5 Melee Defense and some state defenses (which won't really help you grind). I guess if you're gonna PvP any between now and when you master get Master Defensive Techniques. Otherwise, just do whatever the heck you want.

You already have spin2 and stun2, both area attacks. Spin can handle the dizzies, stun has better DPS and can stun. Area1 gets you nothing you don't already have.
